Actually what is as interesting as the beautiful nature we see when on this cruise are the captain's commentaries. Probably a good way to learn more about the region and the history that made it what it is today. Learn about the reservoir ( the lake), the Hoover dam and the history of the men and women that made that... More

This cruse does everything it says on the tin. Although I can't speak for the food service (we stopped at Mr Mamas for breakfast on the way. Also highly recommended) the cruse was run by polite, professional people. We took the cruse on the top deck of the boat, where the strong winds took the edge off the heat, but... More

Overall we enjoyed our cruise on Lake Mead on the (faux-)paddle boat Desert Princess. The scenery around the lake is stunning. However the way the cruise-boat is run is a little odd. Firstly we had to have our photo taken before boarding & were even told that it was a "federal boarding requirement", which was of course total nonsense, as... More

Tip #1: We figured we'd stop and take in this attraction on our way to checking out the Hoover Dam. Once we'd gotten into Boulder City and then the Lake Mead Recreational Area, we weren't exactly sure where to find the paddleboat cruise so we pulled in and asked at the Visitor Center. Well it was a great idea because... More

The staff does not know what they are doing. We were unaware that we would be on board with a tour group and they held up the boat because they arrived late. You could hardly hear the prerecorded narration and missed most of the information. We asked them to turn it up and the lady behind the bar seemed VERY... More

We were so hoping after reading the reviews that is would be an evening to remember. Well it was, but not one to brag to our friends about. We were picked up at Ceasers by a bus, taken to a warehouse to pay for our ticket for the paddle wheel boat and dinner. It turned out to be much more... More

I love taking cruises on Lake Mead on the Desert Princess with Lake Mead Cruises. Have gone many times over the years and have never had anything but a great time. The staff has always been excellent, and the views are simply amazing! Seeing the Hoover Dam and the bypass bridge from the water point of view is really cool,... More

The cruise is relaxing and enjoyed the history of this amazing lake and how it came to be the largest recreation area in the west! If your lucky you will see wild life, big horn sheep, bald eagles, fish of course and other wild birds. The canyon is beautiful and amazing. Sad to see the water level so low. Pray... More

Afternoon cruise on the Desert Princess, not the brunch or dinner cruise. Mid-April. Fantastic weather — sunny and warm, but I needed long sleeves in the breeze. If you are thinking of doing this cruise in desert hot weather, you might want to consider doing an evening cruise rather than an afternoon one. That said, mid-April was perfect. You have... More
