It is always nice to take a day and see things outside of Vegas. The reasonably priced cruise on Lake Mead was very nice. We got a good view of the low water level and a nice view of Hoover Dam from the water. It is in a National park so take your Senior Pass to access the park for... More

Like most visitors to the Hoover dam, I have seen it from the top and back but had never seen it from water level on the face of the dam. The Lake Mead cruise allows that. It was a very nice 90 minute boat ride, and the view of the dam looking down Black Canyon is awe inspiring. All of... More

This could be a very pleasant tour. Why oh why is it necessary to destroy the tranquility and beauty of the lake with continual blaring loud music for the whole journey? Some narration, then silence to enjoy the views is all that is needed. While the lake is at record lows it may not look at its best, but still... More

What a lovely way to cruise up to the Hoover Dam on Lake Mead aboard the Desert Princess. It was a striking way to see how the water levels have dropped on the lake. To be able to see the different colours of the rock formations around Lake Mead. We were given a generous packed lunch. We really enjoyed the whole... More

Food was good, our server Amanda was great but the cruise average. Spent the majority of the cruise just sitting near the dam. Everyone had their pics taken in 5 minutes, could have seen a lot more of the lake. Think they should tell you that there is a fee to enter the park also.

We hadn't planned to do this but so glad we did. They have a lunch menu and I had the chefs salad - it would feed two. The views were wonderful.

This is a 90 minute ride on a paddle wheeler that slowly takes you to view the Hoover Dam from the waters of Lake Mead. Nice respite from the record breaking heat wave in Las Vegas. Plenty of seats and tables in air conditioned inside rooms, and roomy outside deck. Sells drinks, food, souvenirs on-board.

The tour inside the dam was interesting, but the tour we took of glen canyon dam was better, the cruise on the lake was nice and visit to ethel m's chocolate factory was ok except operations was closed when we got there, the gardens were beautiful

We were looking forward to take a short calm scenic tour. It wasn't, the music they played was way to loud and so was the narrator. Because of the music everyone started talking louder so it was kind of wearing us down. The lake was amazing, the boat was amazing but somehow the rest wasn't.
