We took a float plane trip to Lake Clark National Park to see bears. Only way in or out is by float plane. You then take a pontoon boat around Crescent Lake where you will see bears fishing for salmon. We also saw some eagles. This is all up close. You are treated to a salmon lunch and there back... Rusts is fantastic as was Mark out pilot. We felt safe, saw great views , heard great stories and facts, and views of McKinley, Ruth glacier, . So thoughtful to turn the plane so we all had a chance at great photos and vistas. A great value for a great experience. Landed on a mountain lake, touchdown was like silk.... More

Rust's is the air taxi service for a fairly large part of Alaska. We were impressed with the professionalism and experience of the pilots we flew with and the office staff were really on top of things--even with a large number of passengers crowding in the waiting room while we all watched for the weather to clear. It was our... More

Rust's Flying Service is a top shelf operation. The entire staff is very professional and polite. The company runs like a finely tuned precision instrument with the elegance of a choreographed ballet. Our pilot/captain - Glen Curtis, was absolutely superb. Glen's extremely competent airmanship, coupled with engaging narration and passenger interaction, truly made the flight one of the most pleasurable... More

Our adventure started in Anchorage AK at the Rust Flying Service. We were picked up at our hotel by a Rust van. When we arrived at the float plane base, we were told that Kodiak was currently fogged in and we had to wait for clearance. That meant "safety FIRST" to my wife and I. When we finally were told... As a wildlife photographer, I've long wanted to photograph the brown bears feeding on the salmon run. Rust's constantly monitors the bear activity and brings you to them. We visited Brooks Falls in Katmai National Park. The flight was safe and comfortable. And...try and get Curtis as your pilot. He's very knowledgeable, a great pilot with a wonderful sense of... We booked through Alaska Tour and Travel and had a great day! Our pilot was very knowledgable and nice as he flew us to the place we were to be fishing for the day. From there, the awesome people at Riversong Lodge took over and took great care of us! We caught several silver salmon and Jonah, our guide, was... More

I'd been looking forward to this since booking many months in advance. We got cancelled twice - pilot sick, fog. Third time was the charm - we had magical weather and a smooth flight to and back with Justin. Jodi and her dogs were a delight up on the glacier. The whole experience is wonderful and the amazing views are... More

I would highly encourage anyone that's shopping around for bear-viewing tour companies to look no further. Rust's Flying Service was absolutely amazing, professional, and worth every penny. Our pilot, CURTIS, made the difference between a fantastic trip and a once-in-a-lifetime experience full of lasting memories and superb stories. We appreciated every thought and detail that went in to make us... More
