We booked a flight with Rust's for 3 hours. Pilot was great and was in contact with other pilots and the base to optimize our flight. We actually let him decide our flight pattern and were glad we did. We were also lucky that the day was beautiful. Staff is very professional, picked us up at our hotel and returned... More

We used Rust's flying service to go to see the bears. Our pilot was really nice and the flight was a lot of fun. When we got there we had a very full day of viewing bears from boats. They made us a great lunch of freshly caught salmon. It was a really great day. I have about 1300 images... More

this was a brilliant tour. the guides at the Lake were sensational. they were so informative and all they wanted was for the tourists to have a great time and see as many bears and cubs as much as possible. its a long day. the Rust flying crew were fantastic too. flying out in a seaplane and then onto a... Due to flight cancellations leaving Anchorage, I was unexpectedly in Anchorage for a day with no plans. I contacted Rust’s and they had an opening for a scheduled glacier landing tour. They picked me up from the hotel and brought me and other guests to the Lake Hood Seaplane base for our departure. The plane fitted for ski landings (sorry,... More

The experience for this day trip was certainly well worth the expense. To quote my daughter from our travel diary - " There once was a place called Katmai - where the rivers ran strong and the salmon jumped long - Here lived the brown bears who wandered the trails, who swam in the river and were watched closely by... My daughter and I signed up for the Mt McKinley and Glacier Landing 3 and 1/2 hour tour. It was pricey but we figured it was a once kind of thing. It turned out we could not go to Mt McKinley because of the weather on August 26th and they substitued for a 2 hour Anchorage tour with a glacier... More

Flight to and from Denali, glacier viewing was great. Did not see the peak, but glaciers made up for it.

I took a flight up to Denali, about 3+ hrs roundtrip with a friend. We boarded for a 4pm flight and it was absolutely breathtaking. Since it was August with 19 hrs of daylight, it was fine that we left in late afternoon. We were the only passengers on a plane that normally carries 6 passengers. I was in the... More

My son and I were excited about the hour and half flight with rust. We planned our whole day around this flight. I called early in the morning to confirm our trip and was told we were confirmed for two seats and to be at Rusts at 3:30 as our flight was at 4:00PM. When we arrived we were told... More

The pilots and flying were fine, felt totally comfortable with them taking us to a remote lake for a couple of days fishing. Rust's owns a couple of cabins that were supposed to be "Rustic". Rustic is fine, but unkept and dirty is another thing. Just be sure if you use the Rust's facilities, you understand you may want to... More
