An "off the beaten path" gem. Just off the end of the airport, you can enjoy the planes landing and taking off right overhead. Just below the parking lot, one can wander down the cliff. All the locals know this special spot. The night I visited, the kids were there taking prom photos and the ice cream truck was there.... More

This is a geat place to watch big jets land, there is a world class trail that goes by. It is also a "Parking Spot" if you get my drift, very romantic sunset location.

On a clear day, you can see a beautiful view of the mountains (especially the sleeping lady) from here. There are trails in the area open summer and winter. This is also very close to the airport, so you do get to see the huge cargo planes leave, if you are into that sort of thing. Bring a sandwich and... More

This is a great place to watch the sunset on the beach but be careful because tides are extreme and you don't want to have to wade thru cold water to get back.

This is a really neat stop on the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail. You can definitely see the evidence of the huge earthquake that rocked Alaska. Really neat- even if you're an AK resident like myself.

This is a great place to watch the sunset, start or end a hike or bike ride, watch airplanes come and go, and if you're lucky, you'll see a moose along the way!

Really, Forever is just right there...Next to Denali and the rest of the Alaska Range. Ocean, clouds, Fire Island, volcanoes, airplanes taking off right over you head, Earthquake Park just down the way. The Coastal Trail Beckons.

There is not a more beautiful place to see the sunset and watch the jets coming in. Lots of wildlife to see and beautiful scenery, whether it is Sleeping Lady or Mt. McKinley and the price is right.

The view and the sunset were great but the surroundings (people-created trash and noise) were not. Not a place to go after dark!

Walk on the rocks at the water's edge, stroll the coastal trail, bike the path. Many options and all of them beautiful!
