If you are traveling through Anchorage during the winter with preteens or teenagers, this place is an absolute must. It was the highlight of our daughter's trip to Alaska. She enjoyed it more than Alyeska, which is viewed by some as too extreme. The slopes are great for beginners and the instructors and staff are absolutely wonderful. Very convenient to... more

Hilltop overall is an exellent resort but you might as well spend the extra money and drive 40 miles to Alyeska. Hilltop has only one chair lift that takes around 12 minutes. When there's fresh powder Hilltop is an ideal spot to go because it's located only 10 minutes from downtown Anchorage. However crowds and ice can sometimes make it... more
