Our trip on the Denali Star train from Talkeetna to Denali was fantastic! The trip was arranged through our cruise line (Regent) as part of an "add-on"/land tour following the cruise. We traveled in the top portion of a double-decker car (Gold Class) with domed windows that afforded wonderful views all around. We were especially lucky to travel on a... More

Since we only were doing this once in our life, we upgraded to the gold star service. It gets you two free drinks (alcoholic if you choose) and the nice glass dome car with the big views. Honestly, for Fairbanks to Denali, the glass car isn't essential. The first 3 plus hours are surprisingly flat with lots of trees by... More

Breathtaking views and knowledgeable staff made for a pleasant and interesting day. We took the train out and bus back to gain a better perspective of the area. Both were fascinating. The cost is a little high which prompted only a very good instead of excellent review..

We did Anchorage to Seward round trip .. Brilliant views and when Belugas were spotted from the train, the train stopped and then reversed so we could all get pictures. It also slowed to a crawl when we passed the glacier. Next leg was Anchorage to Talkneeta. Views not as spectacular until you get closer to Talkneeta. Talkneeta to Denali... More

We had a private glass topped car on the last leg of our Land Tour following our Alaskan Cruise. This is a great experience!!! The glass top provided great views of the mountains, including Denali from several vantage points. We saw different kinds of trees and passed through several small towns as we traveled from Denali National Park to Anchorage.... More

Mom and Dad, my husband and I, and my sister and her husband booked our trip through AlaskaRailroad.com. This is the way to take a group to see Alaska! First, the booking was very easy, with just a phone call after we had selected our choice of trips offered. Then we decided to drop the dinner theater, and it was... More

We rode the train from Seward to Anchorage on August 28, 2015. Our train left Seward at 6 p.m. A couple we were traveling with had a tight schedule to catch a plane at the Anchorage airport. To help us expedite our departure from the train, Elena pulled our luggage out and set it aside in a special rail car.... More

Great way to finish a alaskan cruise. We cruised from Vancouver to Seward on Royal Carribean(great cruise line). we took the 6 PM Alaska Railroad Costal Classic to Anchorage from Seward. First class trip--scenery top notch and the first class seating with the view roof on train and the inclusive seated meal in dining car was great. Added note even... More

We enjoyed two day trips on the Alaskan Railroad. The train accommodations were wonderful. The seats were comfortable, restrooms clean, and dinner was wonderful. They also provide tour guides who provide information and point out areas of interest, provide the history of the area, and let you know when they have spotted wildlife.
