We took the Gold Line all the way from Anchorage to Fairbanks. We were led to believe that this was a first class ride all the way. Well, it wasn't worth the money! The scenery is gorgeous, but it may have been better to drive. At least you can stop and take pics and not be moving. You can only... More

We booked 3 day trips on the train and it was its own experience that added to the vacation. We were on 3 different trains over the 3 days and each was great! My favorite was the Delani train but would not miss any of them. The staff was excellent and so was the food. My mother felt like lifestyles... More

Seward to Anchorage, then to Denali and finally to Fairbanks! This three leg journey takes the train through the most beautiful landscapes of the Alaskan wilderness. The young commentators are real professionals in their tasks as narrator, historian and even as photo advisors. The rail company has done a wonderful job by accommodating private tour coaches linked up to theirs... More

This is a great way to see a good majority of Alaska. End of August early September all the fall colors are out and just incredible. View through the Healy Canyon tucks and twists around the Nenana river. The Seward train view is the best. Recommend this to every traveler of AK.

We went first class from Seward to Anchorage. At the Seward station there was a small creek next to our train car loaded with salmon. We dined in a fine dining car (check that one off the bucket list) We saw moose and bald eagles along the way. The scenery was outstanding.

Headed to Denali? If you do not want to make the drive yourself, consider Alaska Railway. We took the train one-way into Denali and it was a great experience off the highway. It will take you longer to get to Denali by train than if you drive (and drive straight through with no side stops) but this is just another... More

My wife and I rode the train from Anchorage to Denali, then two days later from Denali to Fairbanks. We did the Gold Star service for both rides. The trip was amazing. The service on the trains was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the food was delicious! Both train rides had sporadic commentary on the vistas... More

I have lived in Alaska for decades and can't believe we hadn't done this sooner! We took the train from Anchorage to Denali Park. What a wonderful way to see the state. The staff was friendly and informative. On the first leg of the trip we rode Adventure class and upgraded to Gold Star class for the return trip. So... More

My wife and I enjoyed our day trip to Talkeetna. Very comfortable ride, plenty of visuals and even met a few very interesting people in the process. Spent half a day in the small town of Talkeetna. Jetboat ride up the river was fun and informative (Mahays Jetboats). The town of Talkeetna had some great food and locally brewed beers... More
