On Sunday 14th of December 2014 my wife and I took the Alaska Railroad train from Fairbanks to Anchorage. We arrived to a clean and well lit Fairbanks station with a most helpful staff who checked our bags and made us welcome. The train departure was about ten minutes late but we were kept well informed of this. On boarding... More

We took this from Denali to Fairbanks. The seatsvwere very comfortable and the view spectacular with some occasional wildlife seen. We had breakfast this trip and it was very good. The tour director was knowledgable and fun. A few days earlier we rode the train from Anchorage to Denali And had the lunch option which was also very good. All... More

At the depot in Anchorage we enjoyed the charming and old fashioned station as we awaited the beautiful blue and gold train. It was to be a memorable birthday gift for our son who absolutely loved trains. We knew we had struck gold when the little guy did not move for almost 3 hours as he looked out the window... More

I loved the scenery and the excitement of my first time on a train, however I was greatly disappointed by the lack of proper service in the food car.

We rode the train from Fairbanks to Denali, then 2 days later took the train from Denali to Anchorage. Having driven from Anchorage to Fairbanks, this was a wonderful opportunity to see more of the beautiful scenery of Alaska in a relaxed atmosphere. We upgraded to the dome car, "Goldstar", for both portions of our trip and it was well... More

We took the Railroad from Anchorage to Seward to board a cruise ship. The seats are really spacious and as we were on the rear carriage we could stand out there and watch the breathtaking scenery as we left it behind. A couple of our party had breakfast and they remarked how good it was. If you visit Alaska this... More

We took this trip as an alternative to a very expensive Canadian train and were not disappointed. The journey from Denali National Park depot to Anchorage took almost 8 hours long enough for us to enjoy the stunning scenery, the company of other travellers and to relax at the end of a wonderful trip to Canada & Alaska. We booked... More

Our cruise ship arranged our transport from Seward to Anchorage on the Alaskan Railroad. This was a fantastic experience. The train winds through gorgeous scenery all the way. Comfortable seating facing new friends with a table for dining. Excellent food choices. Huge windows for excellent sightseeing. Don't miss this chance to view Alaska at its best.

This past September, during the "value" season, my wife and I took round trips from Anchorage to Denali and from Anchorage to Seward. Of course, this was during our "once in a lifetime visit." When it came time to book the rail tickets we decided rather than go "adventure" class we would splurge and go "Goldstar" class. Goldstar sits you... More

Who Loves trains everybody. Take the train anywhere it goes and feel like a child again. with the wind in your hair as you stand on the back deck and watch the glaciers & wilds go by. Step inside the dome car for a warm view . The bar has great drinks and good food.
