Incredible train ride from Anchorage to Seward and back. Be sure to take an extra camera battery because the number of photo ops is truly unlimited. They make several stops along the way and you can move around the train as the trip progresses. I enjoyed standing on the car "outside" to feel the wind and see the sights close... More

Luxurious, comfortable, interesting, informative, and it slowly chugs along so you'll have lots of opportunities to see wildlife, as well as many waterfalls and glaciers. Every accommodation is included -- a great dining car, fine bathrooms, and a snacks/drinks car, as well. Well worth the ticket price. We enjoyed it so much!! This was the Seward to Anchorage day trip.... More

Now don't get me wrong, the sights are beautiful, but based on the entire trip from Anchorage to Seward and back, I have to give it a 2 out of 5, and it was hard to do that after you read the rest. As soon as you walk into the railroad depot, you're sure to get anxiety as the place... More

Rode in the A car which we would highly recommend spending the extra money at least one way to experience the panoramic views from the car and the outdoor balcony. Great service and free soft drinks provided. We ate in dining room and thought the food was extremely good. Highly recommend pot roast and salads!

We love rail, and don't like to drive on vacation, so this was great way to travel to Whittier to go on a Prince William Sound day cruise and return. On-time departure, clean, and in a dome car too. Great! There isn't Gold Star service on this trip but being in the dome car lets you see everything. We saw... More

Warren, the conductor, started our trip off right with a combination of humor and safety instructions. Train was clean and comfortable. The crew did everything they could to help us see the sights and wildlife. We even got to see Mt. McKinley. Warren gave us information about the history of the area and some of the residents who live "off... More

Gorgeous three car vintage train (plus locamotive and cab). Breathtaking views of the Talkeetna river and surrounding peaks & wilderness. Warren, the conductor, made the trip to interesting and offbeat with his commentary on Alaskan history and wildlife. The train is a "flag train" meaning that people can get on and off the train wherever they please. It was a... More

What fun...a 4 hour scenic ride from Anchorage to Seward. The trains were very comfortable with food and bar service. Our guide, Mathew Gautreau, was fantastic....he was very informative and told great stories. We definitely had the best car. We also had the longest trip as water was over the tracks only a few miles out of Seward...we have to... More

After our Alaskan cruise, Celebrity Cruise lines offers a land package and it included a trip on the wilderness train from Denali national Park to Fairbanks Alaska. The day we took the trip the weather was fantastic. The scenery was gorgeous! The seats on the train are roomy and comfortable and you can see for miles sitting comfortably in your... More

The Alaska Railroad trip from Seward to Anchorage was very beautiful and interesting. The route allows for viewing several glaciers and various wildlife. We saw a mother moose and her calf and Dall sheep. There is food and drink service and a knowledgable staff to narrate the ride and alert us to upcoming great photo opportunities. One drawback is the... More
