My family and I took the train from Anchoraand to Seward to catch a cruise. The ride is very scenic, and the train will slow down in certain areas to allow everyone to take pictures. The staff is very friendly and are very knowledable about everything. It was nice to be able to tag our luggage to have it delivered... More

We LOVED our 4 hour train ride from Anchorage to Seward and the 4 hours back. We linked the trip with a boat cruise in Seward and it worked perfectly. The tour guides on the train were not great, but the view and the wildlife were really nice. We would only do this trip again if we did the Gold... More

We paid extra for the dome car (available in summer) and it is such a civilized way to travel. The food available in the dining car is excellent and you can watch the wildlife go by while you eat. The commentary if always interesting.

We recently rode the train from Fairbanks to Denali. (July) What a beautiful trip. Most impressive was the caliber of employees--from the person who checked us in to the people who provided services on the route. Helpful and genuinely interested in making it a pleasant experience. Janet, the narrator, may be the best "voice" we have ever heard in our... More

We all loved the train with it's freedom to walk around and view from the upstairs domed car. The views were great. We got to see some wildlife and Mt. McKinley. It was beautiful. The girls doing the verbal part of the ride were very knowledgable and well spoken, easy to hear and had some great things to say.

My family took the train from Fairbanks to Anchorage. They said the 12 hour trip was amazing. The only problem was the lack of food on the train. The dining car had no food to speak of...you had to go to some counter and get pizza. At almost $1000. for this trip..the dining car SHOULD BE OPEN WITH FOOD AVAILABLE...not... More

We took the train from Anchorage to Denali. The scenery along the way was breathtaking. We were able to see Mt. McKinley as it was a beautiful, sunny day. The next day while in the park was overcast and cloudy so we weren't able to see it. The food on the train was excellent and the waiters were all so... More

Road in a beautiful glass-domed railcar provided by Celebrity Cruises from Anchorage to Talkeetna. Very comfortable with fantastic breakfast in the restaurant car! Thrilling, beautiful scenery, lots of wildlife to photograph. Would love to do it again someday!

I really think the Goldstar Dome Train is one of the best ways to see Alaska. You can relax, have breakfast, take pictures, and see the most amazing scenery! We took the train from Anchorage to Seward. The dome windows made it possible to see everything and being able to walk outside and feel the cold air was an added... More

The trip on the railroad from Seward to Anchorage was amazing, you get to see completely different scenery than you see driving on the Seward Highway. You get up close the lakes, you are travel ling through the rain forest, and get to see a couple of glaciers. The ride along Cook Inlet is breath taking. The service was very... More
