The rail cars were very well kept and the trip from Anchorage to Seward was fantastic even though it was raining the entire trip. We arrived at the train station after being dropped off by the hotel van and found a well organized team of staff who were polite and efficient. We managed to see the glaciers and moose even... More

If you want to listen to a 'train captain' (I think her name was Jane) who talks mostly banal rubbish for the entire 7 hour trip (from Denali to Anchorage) and only knows some pathetic jokes - then take this trip. This trip was the worst part of our wonderful Alaskan / Canadian trip - having to put up with... More

To make a long story short, I had purchased 5 tickets in 3 separate transactions, all 3 transactions showed up on my bank account as a charge but 3 days later a railroad representative emailed me and said they reversed one of the payments as a duplicate payment. This reversed 2 of the tickets, and they didn't call us to... More

Comfortable seats, pretty darn good food, but of course, the scenery is the draw. A wonderful, wonderful experience, especially since we had a train guide who pointed out all the unique spots, helped us look for wildlife, and knew all the great stories about who lived in the cabins, etc. Really and truly and unique and breathtaking experience. You can... More

My husband took the coastal classic from Anchorage to Seward to take a cruise. This reminded me of my much younger days when I traveled to my sisters by train. The scenery is remarkable, the ride is smooth, the breakfast was great as well. I asked before we booked and they cook the food on the train, so it can... More

Excellent train ride. The seats were comfortable and the food was great. The train had windows all around so you can see everything around you. The Alaskan wildlife and landscapes were breathtaking. 10/10.

The train was the best experience I've had in a long time. It was an excellent way to relax and see Alaska at it's finest while having access to food, bathrooms, and of course outdoor viewing platforms. The conductor was very accommodating and if there was an animal sighting he would slow down the train so that everyone could get... More

A 4 hour trip on the wilderness express was a great introduction to the Alaskan wilderness. The glass roofed car gave magnificent all around views while relaxing in comfortable and roomy chairs. The host was very personable and gave just enough commentary to keep things interesting. (Some times you just want tour guides to shut up and let you enjoy... More

We took the train from Denali to Anchorage. It was an 8 hour ride. The weather was glorious, I even spent time outside on the train. There were a lot of animal sightings, moose, bear and all kinds of birds as well. The train is very comfortable and you can walk around or go down to the dining car. If... More
