Trip of a lifetime.

Have fun and see the Alaskan sites via the railroad. They are generous and very helpful. You could see Moose, whales, bears, puffins and more.

I took the Alaska Railroad as part of a group tour from Talkeetna to Fairbanks. It was a painfully long trip, which isn't really the fault of the Railroad but it does skew my view. The ride was comfortable and the train was clean. Some homesteaders got on along the way, which was interesting. (They're a rough crowd but friendly.)... More

Took the train from Anchorage to Denali for our two-day park visit, and were planning a one-way trip (flying back) but the first snow of the season meant we experienced the train both ways to and from Anchorage. But, we were not disappointed as our Conductor was George Hulett, one of the stars of the Alaska Railroad National Geographic TV... More

We rode the train from Anchorage to Whittier for our Cruise. We had a great time! Everyone on the train was wonderful and encouraged us to walk around and look at all the cars (they are all different). The seats were so roomy and comfortable! I even was at a seat that had a plug so that I could charge... More

Based on reviews of all the Alaska railroad routes, I think this one is easily the best to take! The scenery is ABSOLUTELY BREAHTAKING!! There is a naturalist on board who is also a wildlife spotter. It's unbelievable to see all the tall waterfalls on this route! I have never seen so many beautiful tall snow capped mountains in all... More

Such a great trip with my mother, sister and husband! This is truly a low stress way to travel. We splurged on Gold Star and it was worth it. The food was much better than I expected and the view from even the dining car downstairs was incredible. We did almost all legs of the railroad. My favorite was definitely... More

We caught the Alaska railroad train from Anchorage to Seward to meet up with our cruise ship, Radiance of the Seas. The trip took 4 hours and the train was a great way to travel with amazing scenery. We passed many beautiful mountains, pine trees and lakes, and even saw a big male moose disappear into the trees as the... More

WOW! What a Trip!! We paid for the Goldstar service(well worth it!) from Anchorage to Denali NP and then to Fairbanks. Had meals included (breakfast/lunch to Denali; dinner to Fairbanks) plus 2 drinks per person on each leg of the trip. Food was surprisingly good - nothing like airline/airport - fresh cooked.. Didn't have to drive. Great scenery. Informative commentary... More

In early October we hosted a large group of people that went from Anchorage to Seward. What a trip. Great staff, great experience, great food. At Seward there are a number of things to do including taking boat tours into the sound or hanging around Seward. This is well worth it
