Prince William Sound is a world class sailing and boating destination for its scenic beauty, wildlife, and wilderness. It is where I've frequently chosen to recreate for the past 30 years. Its a wild place with little infrastructure you would so typically find in the lower 48. Coast Guard help is many hours away so you'll need to be completely... More

The most beautiful, wild, vividly alive place I have ever been. Drove along the coast one day and it was everything I could to to keep my eyes on the road. I stopped often at the well placed viewing pull offs and saw Beluga whales breaching in the sound, Dall sheep clinging impossibly to the nearly vertical cliffs and a... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Seward & out to the Sound. Even if you only have a couple of days in or near Anchorage, I highly recommend.

The boat ride from Whittier to Cordova and then Cordova to Valdez was the highlight of my tour. Stay a few nights in each town to truly experience of this beautiful body of water, full of beauty right out of a picture book or nature program on TV.

If you can do it in the water you can do it in Prince William Sound. Fishing, skiing, diving, kayaking and even surfing. Valdez, Whittier and Cordova are small Alaskan towns. Do not expect New York or Chicago.

Prince William Sound is expansive and truly beautiful. There is something for everyone- Cruises, Fishing, Kayaking, Whale watching, Glacier tours and hiking. Allow time to investigate your options-theres too much to do it all in a short visit. Be prepare for any kind of weather.

In October, one can't do the glacier cruises in Prince William Sound, the main hotel is closed and the fun shops are as well. But take that Portage road and stop along the way. Any turn out is beautiful. If the weather is holding, hike Byron Glacier. Even if you don't want to pay the toll for the (awesome) 2... More

We took a really cool train to Prince William Sound with great narrators. Saw Moose, thank god we were safe inside the train. The boat ride was well worth it. We spent a lot of time in the Sound and the included lunch was good. Lots of Glaciers and wildlife. The narrator there was very informative. Bring a coat because... More
