Just got back after an awesome day of kayaking with Ryan Collins! His operation is first class all the way! His attention to details, expertise and safety mindedness only added to the amazing adventure we shared on Prince William Sound. The beauty that surrounded us during our kayak trip was breathtaking! Picture yourself surrounded by 7 amazing glaciers nestled between... More

We arrived in Anchorage several days before our land cruise tour began with Holland America to do some day trips on our own. We were not sure if we should do this excursion since our cruise included Glacier Bay. Well, we are sure glad we did! It was amazing! We had a rental car and the drive to Whittier along... More

Took a 5 hour cruise on Prince William Sound. The cruise with the Phillips cruise & tours was on a catamaran holding 300+ people. The views, glaciers and wildlife was amazing. The cruise included commentary by a Park Ranger and a wonderful lunch. Whittier is a very wet area with an average of 177 inches of rain. We did have... More

Beautiful scenic area, lots of wildlife including seal, sea lions, Dahl sheep, etc. The glaciers are magnificence. Weather can be an issue but if you are lucky you will have a once in a lifetime experience.

The train from Anchorage to Whittier is a wonderful beginning to an adventure of sailing that includes so much, expected and unexpected. We were lucky enough to have friends who owned a sailboat anchored in Whittier and sailed off from there with them to experience Prince William Sound We were taken by the exquisite beauty of the lush forest contrasted... Prince William Sound is a beautiful and peaceful space. This year we traveled across it via the Alaska Marine Highway System from Whittier to Valdez. The boat took over six hours so we were able to see the beauty of the mountains, glacier ice floating in the water, waterfalls, many boats, and the awesome wonder of the whales and seals.

A friend of ours took us out on the sound to show us glaciers calving, sea lions lounging on ice burgs, orca whales spouting and plenty of views of the surrounding mountains. Awesome Alaskan views!

Go to Whittier, buy the fudge from the shop at the end of the road, enjoy the strangest and most beautiful place on Earth.

While it's true that the catamaran tour of the Sound is a touristy requirement, there's no denying the magnificence of the scenery. Lunch is a bore, but it is fuel for the nearly 5-hour trip. Feel free to bring your own snacks. Try not to be annoyed by the guests who seem more interested in the bar than the bergs,... More
