Located in what looks like a disused quarry with the entrance located on the left. You literally walk into bottle shaped caves which have been dug out for the stone. The film show gives relevant description and history which is shown without words and is easily understood. There is music playing and can be a little eerie as you walk... More

This was a quarry, and the tour is self-guided, with informative descriptions in the various rooms, but the rooms are all pretty much the same. I found it interesting, but my travel partner thought it was just so-so. You have to read and imagine the contexts for the empty rooms that have been carved apart.

Friendly welcome to the site and a comprehensive introduction. You are left to explore the caves at your own pace and they truly are awe inspiring.

Fairly interesting insight in cave dwelling. You are given a guide and underground map and left to get on with it in extensive underground workings, a little unnerving if you are the only visitors as we were at the time, although more people went in as we emerged.

These are interesting caves, which have been made when they dug out the stone to use for buildings and Chateau in the area. It is fascinating how they did this and if you like caves, but don't like all the ducking and dripping water, this is the place for you! It only takes about half hour to go around as... More

This should be on the must list for anyone visiting Doue. Especially recommended when too hot to move outside, orwet and yukky. A mixed group of French and English speaking frends took the tour. Several indelible memories are: How the quarriers centuries ago began with a small trench in the field, then gradually dug out at an angle. The results... More
