In mid-September we spent a day with Ellwood and one other couple. Ellwood's D-Day tour was the most significant highlight of my 14-day trip European trip! From his pick-up at the train station, to his narrative background and private museum tour, to the D-Day beaches, he didn't slow down for a moment. His knowledge is amazing, his enthusiasm is contagious,... more

My admiration and study of the United States Military reaches from Breed’s Hill through Gettysburg and Verdun to the Coast of Normandy and beyond. My journey to Normandy was nothing less than a Pilgrimage. I have never had such a comprehensive tour as the one provided by Ellwood. I thoroughly enjoyed and was totally immersed into the D-Day experience. His... more

You will not meet a more informed and enthusiastic tour guide than Ellwood von Siebold. He led our group of 5 on a full day tour, starting in St. Mere Eglise, including the Paratrooper Museum. From there we went to Utah Beach, Pointe de Hoc, Omaha Beach, and then finally the American cemetary. You cannot think of a question about... more

We just completed a trip to England and France. The day we spent with Elwood on the D-Day tour in Normandy was the highlight of our trip, hands down. It is moving enough to see Omaha and Utah beaches, Sainte Mere Eglise, and the US cemetary, but Elwood's insights and knowledge make it so much more memorable and personal. He... more

We discovered Ellwood von Siebold and D-Day Battle Tours on the internet. The reviews were glowing. We were not disappointed. My wife and I took a private, 8 1/2 hour tour with Ellwood, starting in his home with many maps and photos to describe the area, the mostly forgotten individuals who did much of the intelligence and planning, the preparations... more

I just returned from France with my family (wife & 2 teenage daughters 18 & 16) and the highlight of OUR (not just mine) trip was the day we spent with Ellwood of “D-Day Battle Tours” in Normandy (February 16, 2009). Ellwood’s knowledge and presentation style really clicked with all of us. His passion & enthusiasm for his work really... more

Ellwood was a fantastic host. Keep the 9 hours very interesting from start to finish. His insight and knowledge of specific events of D-Day made the days tour come to life. His tour is a must if you want a first class tour of the beaches. If you have a choice----travel to his headquarters at St. Mere Eglise and join... more

I wrote a review on his website. Took it as part of a Rick Steves tour. It was the highlight....he brings the DDay events down to specific individuals; his knowledge is second to none. Top notch. I've traveled a lot, and this tour was the best I've ever been on. Wish it had lasted for days. more

Wow, where to begin. In planning our vacation to France this fall, one of my absolute requirements for the family was to visit Normandy and gain a true appreciation for what the Greatest Generation did in service of not only America, but Britain and Canada in their mission to liberate France from the Nazi regime. I have always had a... more

My Son and I were able to spend the day with Ellwood revisiting the beaches and studying "Operation Overload". My Father had landed on Omaha on D-Day, 1944. I made the trip once with him but he was not able to return this time. Having Ellwood take a personal interest in my Fathers past added to the unique tour experience... more
