Looking at a couple of reviews, Arizona travelers seem to need flowers to have a good garden experience. They obviously don't understand the concept of a Japanese garden which is about form and texture. Rarely does one see flowers in a Japanese garden, and then flowers are still servants of the form (like Irises in a pond) not the focal... More

I don't understand how I have misses the Kubota gardens in all the time I have spent in Seattle. 20 acres of beautifully designed gardens! Water features, stone work (a visiting stone worker from Japan was supervising the building of a new terrace wall while we visited: quite a project!), some woods, some small meadows. Sight lines revealing vistas that... More

If you're visiting Seattle and you have a car, the Kubota gardens are worth a visit. The gardens are green and lush and meandering and it's easy to get happily lost. It is not the most meticulous Japanese garden I've ever visited, but when you consider that it's a publicly managed and maintained Seattle city park, what they're doing here... More

We visited the Kubota Garden during our one week vacation in Seattle last week because it was rated so highly on TripAdvisor, and was near another attraction, the Museum of Flight. We wished we would have skipped Kubota, for more time at the Flight Museum. There was almost no colored flowers whatsoever, and the map they provide to tour around... More

Unlike some gardens that we have visited the Kubota Gardens just seem more natural to me. It is a beautiful and peaceful place. I would recommend that you visit this location with others and on a busy daylight time, as it is somewhat secluded.

These Japanese gardens are worth every penny. Beautifully laid out and maintained. I have never seen azaleas cloud pruned and their pine `sculptures' are fascinating and pleasing to the eye.

The first time I went here was with a photography class, and I fell in love with it! The surrounding area isn't great, but the garden itself is worth the trip. It feels pretty big, in fact last time I was there I got lost haha. The one in the arboretum, while it's also beautiful, is much smaller and has... More

We visited here in July, perhaps not the best month. As an amateur photographer, I was looking for a place to go to photograph flowers and scenic spots. There was some color, but not what we had expected. The signage is not good and we never did find the red bridge. Our bad, no doubt, but it was too hot... More

These gardens are gorgeous -- no other word for it. We visited on a sunny day and every corner sparkled. It's such a serene experience.
