Wanted to show the young teen what a big college looks like, and it's big, old, and beautiful. We parked behind a building by the fountain in the evening, no ticket (thankfully): find the fountain, good maps on campus to see where you are, check out the student union, go into a building and into a large lecture hall, her... I visited UW during a visit to Seattle to board a cruise ship. I have no affiliation with UW and in fact went to rival Pac 12 schools but I had heard very nice things about the UW campus and wanted to take a look. The campus is very scenic and well laid out. I especially liked the liberal arts... More

UW or as we locals call it U-dub, is a beautiful campus. From Red square you take in the breathtaking view of Mt. Ranier, in the Spring you'll walk through the courtyard surrounded by Cherry blossoms in full bloom, stop and take a nap in the grass. You can visit the libraries which are mostly architecturally pleasing. Make your way... More

The campus is beautiful, especially The Quad. Don't miss the library, it looks like the Hogwarts dining room inside. Also, if you've read The Boys in the Boat, don't miss The Conabear Rowing Center where you can see the shell that won the 1936 Olympics!

What beautiful grounds to walk in with large douglas firs, great views of the Mt. Rainer and fountains. You can walk along the Ship Canal, go over the Mont Lake Bridge, walk around Husky Stadium and then end up at University Village shopping mall, a high end place to buy unusual things. Spend at least 4 hours here.

Frederick Law Olmstead designed the landscaping and it's being restored to reflect his vision. I graduated in 1961 from there in Forestry so my sentimental feelings prevent an objective review. Take in Rainier Vista, past frosh pond if nothing else. Ivar's Salmon House, with NW native design and great food, is nearby.

That is how my face looked for about 2 hours. This place is so beautiful and I loved the pedestrian/bike-centric layout of the campus. You gotta see the main library and the reading room on the second floor. As close to Hogwarts as you will get without going to Universal Studios. Totally worth seeing even if you don't plan to... This is one beautiful campus. HUGE old buildings.... you feel so small walking among them. The library is a must see. From the picture, you may be looking for Harry Potter. That is the study hall. Incredible. As funny as it sounds.... if it weren't for the cost, attending class, studying and taking tests.... I would sure like to attend... More
