This is a great way for anyone new to the area - and especially those who have limited time in the area - to have a lovely narrated boat ride, sample traditional foods and learn a bit of Salish group Native American history and myth. Approximately 4 hours altogether, the most frequent complaint I have heard and I agree is... More

The boat ride is awesome, great views of Seattle. The down side is the narration that goes for the whole 45 minutes over there regardless of the fact that most people are talking, children are running around and you can't hear anything. The clams on arrival are best avoided, the buffet is good however disappointed that the salmon was farmed... More

Grew up in area and have always known about this attraction, but had to come back as a tourist to experience it. It was a top notch presentation from the narration and story telling on the ride over (and back) and the authentic presentations at Blake Island. The description on their website is exactly what you'll get. From the steamed... More

We decided to venture out of Seattle to experience some of the local culture and decided to try out the Tillicum Village Cruises What a great choice. Everything was awesome from the ferry ride with a guide telling local stories to the welcome from staff though to the delicious salmon BBQ, native dance show and the stroll along the beaches.... Starting with a great late afternoon ferry ride to the island, narrated by a "Disney quality" emcee, this outing delivered as advertised. The only thing that disappointed me is that there was only one "craftsman" working and selling wares. However, everything else was just great. Eating clams out of a mug upon arrival was a bit of a challenge, but... More

We took the Tillicum Village excursion with my parents, we live in the area and had never done this tourist attraction before. The excursion made for a lovely day. It's a little bit on the pricey side but the views and food are amazing. There is a long line to wait in before getting on the boat, we had no... More

We took the afternoon tour to Tillicum Village with the salmon bake and show. I am allergic to fish so I got the boat ride and show only. It was very crowded when we were there so I would recommend advance reservations at busy times. It is about a 45 minute relaxing boat ride to Blake Island. A narrator relates... More

We took a multi-generational group on this cruise and everyone enjoyed. My 8-year-old was enthralled by the Native stories told by "Haida" on the boat there and back. The salmon was absolutely the best salmon we have ever had. The rest of the food was delicious too! Service was top-notch. Note that the gift shop is completely crowded after the... More

Definately a Must-Do. It's a short "cruise" (inside and outside seating available) to Blake Island where you are greeted with a warm cup of clams (when you finish, be sure to crush the shells on the pathway!), before entering the lobby where you can see how the salmon is prepared- very interesting. The dining area is family style with long... More

Be ready for a long wait in line before boarding the boat. I guess that's to make sure no one misses the boat! Some reviewers have called this tour a bit touristy. I agree. That should not keep you away because there is so much to learn about native cultures and at least this tour spends some time addressing a... More
