This is where it all began. Just like every other Starbucks, there is nothing different about this one, except for the outside and how it looks compared to others. There was always a huge line to get in. So i never made it in.

First of all, this technically is not the "original" Starbucks. The original was down the street in a hotel. When the hotel was damaged in a fire, I believe, they moved to this location. In the meantime, 2 other locations had opened. However, the company markets this as the original and sells mugs that you can only get there. There... More

Ok people, quit complaining about the lines and it being crowded. If you are looking for no lines, go to another starbucks. People come here to see the very first original Starbucks, of course it is going to be crowded. It looks really nice to see and the atmosphere was great. I liked the little souvenirs there and obviously the... More

We went here just before closing one weekday evening. The line wasn't too bad and we only waited about 5 mins to get served. Although this is a fully functioning Starbucks, there is definitely something special about this one. The atmosphere is buzzing, the memorabilia is great and there are lots of excited people around. It's a fun thing to... More

Of course I went to see the very first store of Starbucks. Maybe if it wasn't that crowded I would appreciate it much more..it looks nice and cozy, but the waiting lines are quite long and you can't even sit inside. You can buy some souvenirs inside, such as mugs with the original sign, etc. and they serve their own... More

OK, it's Starbuck No.1, it is an absolute must do, but be warned it is a long long queue to get in and when you get in....it's a Starbucks with no seating! They have exclusive merchandise and the friendliest Starbucks Staff imaginable...but still, nothing special!

If you are a Starbucks fan, definitely go, wait in line to order your drink and your official Pike Place merch, then wait in line again to pick up your drink (it'll be a good 15-20 minutes wait time again) just so you can say that you went to the first Starbucks. But...be warned this isn't the original "first" Starbucks... More

For anyone that likes Starbucks, I think this is a must-see in Seattle. While you do wait in a longer line to get the same beverage you can get at any Starbucks, they offer great merchandise (this is a great place to get souvenirs for fellow coffee-lovers), and it's cool to see the original logo. Not particularly wonderful, but if... More

In Pike Place Market, lines are LONG. I suggest each Starbuck's have a separate line for those who only want to buy merchandise and not drinks. In my opinion, having everyone stand in line for drinks and/or merchandise takes too long and slows the process. It would be a win-win situation: merchandise-only would get out of there faster and the... More

The first Starbucks café across from Pike Place Market is amusing to see. It's part of Seattle's history. It's the only branch that still uses the first logo. It's definitely easy to see from the outside. To get inside, the line is really long. I've read the other reviews about this. No matter what the season is, you'd have to... More
