Where an empire was born

Come early as this original Starbucks gets very crowded into the day, probably the crowdest SB I've been to. Nice to say I've been to where it started.

The "original" is about it. This place is nuts. I have never seen so many people taking pictures with mugs and bags of coffee. They do offer some souvenirs that are only available at this location, which is pretty cool. The coffee line can be insane. If you want to avoid the crowd you better go early, and I mean... More

A coffee is a coffee, but here it was an experience worth doing. The staff were extremely friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant. Spent an hour is so and watched people bussle by

I visited this place while at a conference in Seattle. It is definitely a must-see if you are a slave to Starbucks coffee. The place is very busy, so be prepared for a wait though it was only about 20 minutes total. It is very unique with the original logo. Coffee is the same as any other Starbucks, but you... More

Yes, this location in Pike Place Market is the original Starbucks, but beyond that, there's nothing special about this place. Expect long lines for the exact same coffee you ordered at any other Starbucks. Instead, spend your time waiting in line at other shops and stores at Pike Place, like Elleno's (best Greek yogurt outside the Mediterranean) and Le Panier... More

OK, a star for it being the first one and another for them being smart enough to be able to grow a culture that believes $5 for a cup of coffee is cool. We could hardly see the place. It was packed so bad the fire inspector should have put a limit to it. A whole lot about nothing and... More

The very first Starbucks? Well anyone who likes coffee is, of course, going to check it out. As well you should. Why? There are a couple of reasons; they may seem like minor things, but the whole point is that this is a fun place to stop, not a revolutionary new type of coffee shop. Reason number one, they have... While it may not the original Starbucks it was still a fun experience. I arrived there by accident, looking to take in a few sites during the pre dawn hours, get a bit of a walk in before the day and find breakfast. I literally stumbled upon the place. I was the only one in the shop when I arrived... More

As a former Starbucks partner, it was so cool to visit this store. The service was great, and our drinks were perfect! We had to wait a bit, but that didn't bother us at all--actually, the fact that they were busy (which we totally expected this location to be busy) and still offered great service and excellent product is the... The Starbucks that started it all. This is the only store with the original logo. Like all Starbucks in Seattle, there is a line. This store has a line longer than others I have seen. Inside, you can buy merchandise only available at this location. They have a Pike Place market mug and numerous mugs and tumblers with the original... More
