When we go to Seattle, I love to go and get my favorite coffee drink. The enjoyment is not only the coffee, but also where the original is located, Pike Place. There are always people to watch and performers to listen to. The staff are always friendly and the coffee great.

I travel a lot for work and try to hit local Starbucks in each location to collect You Are Here mugs. Getting a Pike Place mug is a great win for my collection.

No visit to Seattle would be complete without a stop at the original Starbucks locations. Don't be fooled. The original is down hidden in Pike Place Market. There is a bit of a line, but you get the flavor and feel of the coffee giant. Tons of merchandise with the first logo. Don't fall for their special Pikes Places blend,... More

We took international friends to Pikes Place and its attractions. We decided to go to the original Starbucks. The line was long, and when we got in the door there was an employee hawking suvernier mugs. Another two one the cash registers. Another two stocking shelves. Guess how many barista's? One. Yes, a 45 minute wait because the coffee store... More

It was cool to stop in and have a coffee at the very first location of Starbucks! My husband waited for about a half hour in line (outside and inside). It is obvious that this is a must stop in Seattle for many visitors.

Not a coffe drinker but everyone I know is. Its fun to see where it all started. there are always great street musicians playing outside. Its fine to get a little souvenir for friends. you can get a special edition gift card there that is only available at that store. great stocking stuffer. worth the duck in if you are... More

Take a picture of the outside if you want, but don't bother fighting the crowd, which is constant. It's just another Starbucks. Same drinks, but they hike the price a bit because...they can. It is a very narrow venue and people are all over the place milling about in a very disorderly fashion looking for overpriced souvenirs. You'll spend half... More

The original Starbucks is... wait for it... just like every other Starbucks. Be prepared to wait in a ridiculously long line to buy the same overpriced coffee available anywhere else. Unless this is a bucket list item, spend your time in Seattle doing something else. The city has much to offer and coffee is available on every corner.
