We didn't intend to go to this museum on a recent trip to Seattle. We went over to see the space needle and it was poring rain. Figuring we wouldn't see anything from the space needle we went into this nearby museum to get out of the rain...we're really glad we did. They have a great history about the evolution... more

We took our two boys ages 8 and 12 on a Saturday morning. We started on the second floor and they did all the music mixing and tried the instruments. I think we spent 2 hours just on the second floor! While on the 2nd floor, we also did virtual band as a family. It was really fun playing the... more

We spent a couple of hours here while waiting for our afternoon Victoria Clipper departure. EMP had some cool exhibits, like the gallery of guitars, but we probably would have gotten more out of it if we'd taken advantage of some of the interactive ones. There seemed to be a lot of unused space -- we expected a bit more... more

Great collection of artifacts and information on both old science fiction shows, movies, characters, etc as well as musical talent. A non-rushed environment made it a great way to spend several hours. The gift shop held all kinds of gems - including a Sleestak bobblehead (from the Land of the Lost). Who would have thought you could see Kermit the... more

This is definitely a unique museum to visit. We had a lot of fun exploring the sights and could have spent a lot more time there if our itinerary would have allowed. Definitely take the time to perform on stage. It was a blast and is free unless you want to buy a photo and DVD. I only wish they... more

We heard from alot of people to go to the EMP. The cost wasn't too bad. Have to say we got a bit bored with it. The guitar art was cool and the guitar greats exhibits were neat to look at.. We had trouble trying to get in a room to play music. They didn't monitor it and it was... more

Visited on a Friday afternoon. It was not overly busy, so we were able to see everything and have a turn at different activities. 2 adults and 2 teens came to $54.00 - which is a little expensive. We really enjoyed the Jimi Hendrix exhibit. Probably the best part was the intereractive section where the kids were able to try... more

We visited this and the sci-fi museum. This is great place for teens and adults who appreciate rock music and history. There is a nice Jimi Hendrix display. You could spend hours here listening to recorded stories and information from musicians. The guitar stack to ceiling artwork is great. I would not bring young children here. more

My favorite part was the Hatch Poster exhibit. And the Jim Henson Exhibit at the SciFi Museum (puke!). If you love marketing/advertising, there's so much history and good stuff in this place. Derek really wanted to go because of all of the Hendrix stuff. But, I could have done without. But, afterward I was so glad we did it. It... more

The metallic shine of the building lures you in. What follows is a disco sensation, and hundreds of guitars held together in mid-air. After buying your tickets (a steep $15 for what you're about to get), you are welcomed into the best exhibit in the 'museum', a tribute to Jimi Hendrix. After that, there is a timeline of how the... more
