This was a wonderful place to visit to get to know the history of Seattle's founding and development. It had a very nice set of photos, shows, dioramas and text exhibits for the initial founding, the Native Americans, the early pioneers, all the way through the war years and to the present. Particularly well developed WW II due to Boeing.... More

This is a very nice little museum and is reasonably priced. The move to the new location has given them the room they need. Lots of information about Seattle's history, which is very interesting. Four hours or so is needed to do the place right.

The south end of Lake Union features a lovely park, historic boats, great views and this fabulous museum filled with memorabilia and a historic, well done look at Seattle's past from the earliest days of Native Americans and pioneers to present day all in a stunning venue.

I grew up going to this museum, and it will always be one of my favorites. My favorite was always the periscope you can look through and see over the lake.

As a historian of science and technology, I had a bias toward this type of museum. However the MOHI still managed to surprised me. While it's focused on local history, it shows how the Seattle area has been cutting edge in innovation and industry since the end of the 19th Century. The exhibition is gorgeous, well put and easy for... More

A beautiful building on the south shore of Lake Union, will teach you all about Seattle and its history. Many artifacts from businesses and buildings not longer existing. A great visit on a rainy day.

I have now been several times, as there is so much to see and read and my brain gets full. It is free on the first Thursday of the month so I don't feel bad just doing a section or two and saving more for next time. The recent Chocolate exhibit was really well done, and the tasting experience was... More

I found the exhibits interesting, informative, and fun. Several interactive displays that add to the entertainment value. However, one of the exhibits encourages hammering to see the answer. They might want to rethink this one. It can get very noisy with hyperactive kids. The rest of the museum's interactive exhibits are great. Overall I think it is an excellent museum... More

Staff was very courteous. The chocolate making class needed more staff and order but we enjoyed it nonetheless. The museum is a bit smaller than we expected for the price but it was intersting and laid out well.
