We went twice in the past to weeks ...one Sunday am and one Saturday pm! Both were great experience! The first we went to the right of the south entrance and experienced many large animals seen some close up and others from a far distance. We saw the penguin new exhibit with them swimming furiously around the pool! then we went... more

The design for these exhibits allow you to really see the animals. The penguins were rushing the glass and the gibbons were eating carrots right up against the fence. The food in the park was overpriced (no big surprise) and I agree when someone else mentioned that children run the park ... but that's more a function of these crappy... more

I've been to a few zoos in my day, mainly big city zoos with fancy exhibits and I have to say, I really like the Woodland Park Zoo. I found it cleaner than most zoos I've been to with nicer animal habitats. I'd recommend going during "Zoo Tunes" or the "Pumpkin Walk", definitely worth while. more

We did not have a good experience at Woodland Zoo. It started with the parking situation. We went to three of the zoo parking lots. Cars were parked in a haphazard manner and there was no one monitoring the lots. There was a humongous line for the electronic parking meters. There is only meter for about 300 slots. At two... more

I live an hour away from the zoo. The last two times I have been there, field trips were going on. The first time while in the cafeteria we had sat down, school kids came in after us, and we were in the middle of 2 tables throwing food at each other. Nothing was done, even after we complained to... more

I loved my visit to the Woodland Park Zoo. I have never been to the San Diego Zoo. However, I have been to the Bronx Zoo (Bronx, NY) and preferred the Woodland Park Zoo. The exhibits are layed out so nicely. The animals look like they are in their natural habitats. One of the major attractions at this time is... more

I've been to a few zoo's, San Diego, Portland, etc. and each has it's +'s and -'s. This one is ... well ... a zoo. It's a pretty decent one, and you get to see some neat things, but it is a zoo, so don't expect 'chariots' and 'harps', just expect a decent zoo, a decent enough day, the kids... more

We had purchased a CityPass for our Seattle trip which included admission to the zoo. The zoo wasn't high on our priority list of things to do but we figured, What the heck? It's paid for, right? We might as well visit. I am SO glad we did! It was one of my favorite parts of the trip. I'm sure... more

We live near a highly rated zoo and we still commented how much we loved visiting this zoo. The biggest thing our whole family agreed upon is how the zoo did a great job of making you feel like you really were in the region of the world the animals were from. In the Asia jungle exhibit you wandered paths... more
