I have been to many, many zoos in my lifetime and around the world. I have to admit, Woodland Park Zoo is one of my favorite zoos! The grounds are beautifully shaded and mostly level. I've been to many zoos with no shade, all the animals are hot and hiding and the people are miserable at the end. Not this... More

Being from San Diego, it's hard to find a zoo that compares; but I did enjoy my visit to the Woodland Park Zoo. It's a park like setting and has plenty of walking paths, for the most part the animal exhibits were nice, but limited. I was not impressed with the giraffes, I felt like they were in very small... Woodland Park Zoo is a well maintained, 100 acre park-like setting specialising in conservation and education. Knowledgeable park workers were in attendance near every exhibit area and answered questions with enthusism. The venues were clean and surrounded with trees, shrubbery and bamboo stands that provided privacy and quiet for the animals housed therein. The animals looked well nourished, clean, healthy... I was super impressed by the Nocturnal exhibit and their no tolerance policy for harassing the animals. Had a great time with my grown children.

We love the Woodland Park Zoo!The animals are in beautiful and spacious exhibits were they have room to roam around and be animals. We had the opportunity to see the baby jaguars and baby lions-what a treat! They are such beautiful animals and it was delightful to watch them play. All the exhibits are well designed, and you can tell... More

cruelty to animals is rife! Long suffering elephants enclosed in an 1acre pen! Disgusting to human nature! I myself do not disagree entirely with keeping animals with the intention for us to all see, but when they are kept in cruel conditions and showing signs of distress for absolutely no reason there is no excuse! Never again!

This zoo is a great day out. Compared to other zoo's I've been to this was nice in that it was smaller and a lot more manageable therefore to navigate. The zoo seems to have a very high number of endangered species and it was great to see the zoo doing so much to preserve and look after these animals.... More

The map provided was a loser. It seemed not to correspond at all to the location of exhibits, and was further made confusing by the lack of proper signage at the exhibits. It was not a happy experience if you were a true tourist/visitor to the city and had a time limit to your stay at this attraction. It was,... More

Loved out visit. We took our daughter, and we all enjoyed the animals. It rained while we were there so there wasn't a whole lot of activity with the animals, but that didn't stop us from seeing as many as we could.

Loved being able to get so close to the wild. The lion cubs and mother playing and interacting together right in the viewing window. The bears moving around in clear view. So fun for kids to see wild life up so close. The animals are so amazing to watch. Wear your walking shoes and get rested before coming because it... More
