Reading the previous reviews, I can see that a lot of positive reviews were based on feeding and interacting with animals, petting zoo, things for children, etc. That's not what a zoo should be. Woodland Park Zoo is a big park with animals and I do agree it's really for kids. Having moved to Seattle from Washington, DC, I was... more

Love this zoo! We bought an annual pass this year, and have been many times over the spring and summer. We love the winding paths which makes it feel like you're in the wilderness. We love the gorilla and other primate exhibits. The African Savanna is gorgeous. We love the outdoor play area (the indoor one is nice too, but... more

We've been to many zoos and only went to this one as we had tickets as part of the Seattle City Pass deal. However it was EXCELLENT and can be thoroughly recommended. Even the food was good! more

The Woodland Park Zoo is a good example of to each his own. I have seen other reviewers, and even heard two people complaining about having difficulty seeing the animals. These complaints do have a lot of validity. The zoo is set up to allow the animals to have large, natural habitats. If you want the animals wheeled out and... more

My husband and I have been to different zoos and we just thought that this one was just a park, really just for children to play. Was very hard to see the animals, since they are soo far away to see, plus they were all sleeping, the grass was so high, that you just could ONLY imagine there was an... more

We went twice in the past to weeks ...one Sunday am and one Saturday pm! Both were great experience! The first we went to the right of the south entrance and experienced many large animals seen some close up and others from a far distance. We saw the penguin new exhibit with them swimming furiously around the pool! then we went... more

The design for these exhibits allow you to really see the animals. The penguins were rushing the glass and the gibbons were eating carrots right up against the fence. The food in the park was overpriced (no big surprise) and I agree when someone else mentioned that children run the park ... but that's more a function of these crappy... more

I've been to a few zoos in my day, mainly big city zoos with fancy exhibits and I have to say, I really like the Woodland Park Zoo. I found it cleaner than most zoos I've been to with nicer animal habitats. I'd recommend going during "Zoo Tunes" or the "Pumpkin Walk", definitely worth while. more

We did not have a good experience at Woodland Zoo. It started with the parking situation. We went to three of the zoo parking lots. Cars were parked in a haphazard manner and there was no one monitoring the lots. There was a humongous line for the electronic parking meters. There is only meter for about 300 slots. At two... more

I live an hour away from the zoo. The last two times I have been there, field trips were going on. The first time while in the cafeteria we had sat down, school kids came in after us, and we were in the middle of 2 tables throwing food at each other. Nothing was done, even after we complained to... more
