This zoo isn't overly large but it is well maintained with a nice variety of animals. Because it's Seattle be sure to dress appropriately, most of the exhibits are exposed to the elements.

Was so looking forward to the Christmas lights at this venue. It was terrible. The information at their website told you to purchase tickets in advance (on-line) so as not to have to wait in long lines. We did this, and then the line for people with prepaid tickets was very long. Those purchasing tickets on site, went to a... More

We went with my brother and his small family, and it seems like most of the animals were missing. The only reason this wasn't a complete waste of time was because they had season passes and got us a discount.

This zoo is considered small from a square footage perspective however the zoo is laid out so nicely that it feels so big. We have been here many times and each time we go it feels like the first time. The zoo has an indoor play area for babies and older kids (less than ~8). There are also animal sculptures... More

We wasted 2 hours trying to go to the Wildlights at the zoo. It took over an hour to crawl bumper to bumper up the hill to the parking lot only to be turned away and told there was no parking. After finally finding a parking spot on the street, the line for tickets was so incredibly long, we would... More

I took my grandpa to the zoo, and he got to hand feed a giraffe, feed the birds and see a grizzly bear, and lions for the first time, he loved every minute of the trip! He did get pretty tired, from walking so much. This zoo provides so many opportunities for learning about the animals, not just looking at... More

We expected the zoo to be small and we were pleasantly surprised by the size and quality of exhibits in the space! We really enjoy the zoo, and we paid a little extra to feed the birds and the giraffes. If you are looking for a way to extend your trip without spending any more money, make sure to stop... More

The Moms and little girls went to the Zoo (the Dads and boys went to the Flight museum). It was gray and wet, but we walked for nearly 3 hours and the kids got to run their brains out which made for a peaceful evening later on. I'm not a zoo aficionado (there are many things about the concept I... More

I live in Seattle, am in my 30s, and don't have children. And I love this zoo anyway. The exhibits are original and I've spoke to people working at the zoo that have traveled all over the globe in the name of conservation. I've heard recently a ton about the elephants and have barely skimmed the surface of looking into... More

Woodland Park is one of my favorite zoos. They have a variety of programs throughout the week (they run more frequently in summer, some only on weekends during the winter) which are fun to attend. You can get through the zoo in about 3-3.5 hours, if you take your time and check out every exhibit like I do. The zoo... More
