If you to ask me what I liked best about the zoo I would have to think for a moment and I can't think of one individual thing to single out. The experience as a whole was very satisfying. The zoo was so well laid out. The openness and the flow of the walk ways coursing through the park made... More

This zoo is perfect for the family because it's not enormous. It is situated on a peninsula so it gets lots of ocean breezes and can be chilly even in the summer, so dress in layers. There are a few hilly areas scattered throughout the property, so I recommend tennis shoes. The parking is not great, however, so it can... More

We have been to many other zoos and this one was great. Mostly liked the perfect weather. We are used to high humidity during zoo visiting times. Perfect weather and the walking was bearable. Loved the grizzly bear! Overall great trip!!

I am so glad that most zoos have progressed from keeping animals in small cages or enclosures. This is one of the very best. Huge areas provided as close to natural habitat as possible. Loved watching a monkey watch TV. The Lion King was keeping him entertained inside till he decided to go out for a swing through the jungle... More

Our son has been begging to go to a zoo. We were originally going to go to one close to home, but heard great things about Woodland Park, so we made a mini vacation out of it - drove down, spent the night, and then went to the zoo. With two children under 3, I was surprised that we spent... More

We had such a great time in October for the trick or treating, that we returned in April with a large group. Everything is so well cared for. The grounds, the animals and the patrons. My grand daughter enjoyed the elephant feeding and the birds that ate off of her hand. My mom enjoyed one of the ride on carts... More

As a big fan of otters, there are many Asian small clawed otters! The river otter exhibit was lovely too. We went through 80% of the zoo in a couple hours, definitely stop in for a visit!

We love a visit to Woodland Park Zoo when we're in Seattle...it's really the perfect size and well laid out, easily accessible to parking, and a very short drive from the city. Good clean amenities, reasonable costs for admission, and the animals for the most part seem well cared for in enclosures that are better than most I've seen. The... More

I've been to the zoo and witnessed one of the female elephants swaying back and forth and back and forth. I am not an expert but even my husband and I could tell that this animal was in distress only to learn later that one of the elephants we saw dropped dead shortly thereafter. The remaining two elephants have been... More

Really enjoyed visiting this well-maintained zoo. The docents weren't very friendly or helpful but I enjoyed the zoo anyway. Visited on Mother's Day so by afternoon it was really crowded at most of the exhibits. Surprisingly, food at the chowder house was really great.
