Alki Beach shows the quirky side of Seattle. Last time I rode my bike out to Alki Beach from downtown (a fairly strenuous ride), I was following a girl on a skateboard who had a dog in her backpack. There are several great bars and eateries at Alki and the people watching is great. Definitely worth the trip out to... More

A lovely beach area, perfect for picnics. Plenty of eateries around too! A perfect place to sit & chill, watch the ferries go back & forth, enjoy the sun going down & the lights come up on the Seattle skyline.

Picnic, picnic, picnic....or take a walk or sit and watch the ferries or sit and look at the Seattle skyline. This is one of my favorite places to hang out in Seattle. For the tourist only go here if you like laid back and quiet. A nice place to take the kids for an afternoon.

I would not have expected to find a "real" beach in Seattle. And then there's Alki! Check it out when you're in Seattle. Highlights included walking barefoot along the shoreline and the fabulous Alki Surf Shop -- which will complete your sense of this being a beach town.

Alki beach was the first saltwater beach in the USA. It is a nice beach close to the street which makes it a bit noisy. But on the other hand there are many restaurants across the street where you can get burgers, ice cream and do on. Of course there are also some coffee houses. The beach is sandy and... More

Love this place. Nice break from the downtown feel, take a stroll down the beach, browse the shops, eat at all the places, enjoy life.

The view of Seattle from Alki beach is beautiful...but if you're anything like me and go to a beach in order to be in the water, then don't go here. There is litter all over the place and the waves are thick with algae and seaweed and nastiness. It's cold too. After seeing some of the most beautiful beaches on... More
