A perfect place to take a break from downtown touring, Alki beach has several miles of paved path that follows the bay. Its a great stroll on a nice day with a great view of the city, and some terrific restaurants for a leisurely lunch or dinner. My very favorite is Pegasus Pizza where you MUST try their Tom's Special!... More

Alki Beach proper (a beach!) is where most folks go, but around the corner to the south (past the lighthouse) is a rocky shoreline which at low tide has all kinds of intertidal life to explore. Walk on the wild side!

Because it has sand. Sand! Lots of great things happen here: SCUBA training, volleyball, girls in bikinis, etc. A definite go-to place when it's sunny and warm.

Miles of sandy beach all with fantastic views of Downtown Seattle and the Waterfront. If you are visiting Seattle, consider taking the Water Taxi over to West Seattle and Alki Beach. For those who like to walk, jog, ride bikes or rollerblade, there is a nice paved trail that hugs the entire beach for miles. Lots of shops and places... More

Can't beat the view and the beach is nice too. However, you don't need to sit on the beach, take the water taxi over from Seattle, catch the free shuttle to Alki - or ride a bicycle over and stroll. It's free, fun for kids, great strolling, walk on the beach or pedestrian sidewalk, stay out of the bike lane... More

For a small beach this is just perfect. I enjoy going here just for some fresh air. The view is amazing.

Alki is a wonderful neighborhood beach. There are miles of walking/biking trails that huge the beach line, a nice sandy stretch of beach for volleyball, beach fires, or just catching the view. Lots of good restaurants and bars in the "business" area. All in all a city gem!

We loved that this beach was so close to Seattle proper, maybe 20 minute drive, Everyone was really friendly and nice there. We had heard that parking was hard to find but we found a spot right on the main street, just a sidewalk separating us from the beach. It was a really relaxing and fun way to spend a... More

Alki beach is a great destination in Seattle..take the water taxi over from downtown Seattle and you get awesome views of the city and get to Alki without driving. Lots of bars and restaurants on the waterfront. Good day and night.
