The best place to stay

In west Seattle, you are in the middle of nature and very close to everything. Having jogging in alki avenue in the morning is a great and relaxing moment.

There's a great view of Puget Sound all the way along Alki, where the first settlers landed. Lots of sand & water on one side, many good restaurants on the other. Parking is difficult, but sometimes one can luck out on a side street. A great place to spend a day sunbathing, swimming (if you can stand the cold water),... More

One of my favorite beaches to visit. Very clean. You can have picnic lunches at the beach, wade in the water and watch the boats go by.

Best to visit at low tide...very low tide, like below -2 on the tidal chart. The pools are amazing! Sadly, the purple seastars are very, very low in numbers but there are other fascinating creatures to discover. Walk gently and be patient...the critters come out when you least expect it! Mind the geoduck spray, too, it'll get you!

Take the water taxi from Seattle......sunset views from Alki with Seattle's skyline is breath taking. Salty's on Alki offers a wonderful night time view of the Seattle Sky Line.

Loved the sunset over the Olympic Mountain & Puget Sound. It was so nice to be able to see this beach with it's mini Statue of Liberty. There is a small fish and chip place across the street called Spud's if you need an awesome snack while you wait. I recommend this spot as a must see.

Ali is just a short drive from downtown and a local favorite. There are plenty of good places to eat or have a drink. You'll find lots of people biking, running, roller skating and rollerblading, playing volleyball or just playing in the sand and water. Beware the water is cold though! No better view of the city skyline during the... More

A great place to enjoy a leisurely stroll with a magnificent view of Space Needle, Olympic mountains and Puget Sound. Plenty of picnic sites. A good family friendly park. Parking on street only.
