Alki Beach is very pretty but not a place I'd want to swim which is why I'm giving it 4 stars because for me I like to swim when I'm at a beach. A lot of beach volleyball courts and leagues are set up here though. The reason I wouldn't swim is the water is cold and murky. I should... More

Nice spot to visit if you are in Seattle, but I can't imagine trying to find a parking space on a weekend --- We visited on a Thu for lunch, and we had to drive around for a while before we finally found a spot on a side street. Enjoyed walking the "promenade" along the water. No seals :-( but... More

Alki Beach -- Seattle's only beach -- has much to offer, such as a wide strip of sand; swimming (very cold water, though); exquisite views of the Seattle skyline; wildlife viewing, including seal pups at this time of year (August); an array of restaurants in most price categories; and pedal- buggy, bicycle and kayak rentals. On sunny summer days, people... More

nice place to walk (we were there for an art show) - the beach area is small and the sand seems trucked in from a hardware store but I've been spoiled with great beaches elsewhere in the world. There is a nice long walk with pretty views. I would spend several hours here, if the weather was right. Plenty of... More

As I'm sure everyone and their brother knows, this is the only beach in Seattle. While it can't compare to a beach in Florida, it is quite nice! There is always something going on and plenty of restaurants nearby!

We rented a buggy, pedaled along the beach and had a great time! When it was time to eat the Phonecia made me gluten-free scallops and green beans. The rest of the family had great fish and chips at Spuds Fish & Chips. It was a clear, sunny day so we watched the ferries, sailboats, and paddle boarders. note: we... More

My family and I were thankful that the hotel front desk from our hotel recommended going to Alki Beach. Going there was definitely the highlight of our trip to Seattle. The panaromic view from the ferry ride was amazing! It was great to get away from the touristy part of Seattle! Definitely would recommend this place!

We took to beach cruiser bikes from Alki Kayak Tours all the way down the Alki Beach Strip ... it was a great view of the Cascade Mountains and we were told the best sunset in Seattle by our waitress at Salty's ... during the summer months recommended for a long walk and a swim if you can handle cold... Good view of Seattle Skyline and space needle. In summer place is very pleasant and crowded during the day . You can see lot of birds there sometimes there are seals too. Close to beach there are lots of restaurants and places to eat. Overall its a great fun place.

We took the water taxi from the pier and then caught a shuttle to bakery nouveau. After picking up some baked goods we caught another shuttle to enjoy them on Alki beach. Interesting side trip while we were in Seattle and a nice little beach. Views across the sound of the Seattle skyline are amazing. Views from the water taxi... More
