Description: Bill Speidel's Underground Tour is a leisurely, guided walking tour...
Bill Speidel's Underground Tour is a leisurely, guided walking tour beneath Seattle’s sidewalks and streets. As you roam the subterranean passages that once were the main roadways and first-floor storefronts of old downtown Seattle, our guides regale you with the stories our pioneers didn’t want you to hear. It’s history with a twist! The tour begins inside Doc Maynard’s Public House, a restored 1890s saloon. Following a short intro, we’ll walk through historic Pioneer Square to three different sections of Underground—about three blocks in all...

Thoroughly enjoyed this 75 minute walking tour of Seattle's underground. Guide was extremely knowledgeable (and funny) and effortlessly kept everyone's interest for the full time. You'll visit three main underground areas and learn why the city started, how it continued to grow, and how "seamstresses" became the main contributors to the city's tax rolls in the early days. Very interesting.... More

Excellent hour and a half being shown and educated about Seattle's early and odd history. Superb Guide extremely knowledgable and humerous. Great fun.

I really enjoyed the tour. It started out in a meeting area with about 300 people. We were split into groups, which our group was maybe 40 people. It was almost too big, but I felt like I still learned and saw things as if the group had been smaller. I learned a lot about Seattle's past. This was the... More

A fascinating glimpse of a unique period in Seattle's past. The tour guides were both informative and entertaining; their stories made the era (1870-1907) come alive. This is history as it should be, warts and all. After a 30 minute talk, you are taken on a walking tour of 3 underground sites where you are able to view and experience... More

This company offers military discounts at the ticketing counter, but not online. When we brought up this discrepancy at the starting location (we unfortunately thought we were doing the right thing by buying online in advance so as to secure out spots), we were told very rudely and unsympathetically that nothing could be done, though our party included a current... Thank you for bringing this to our attention. It is correct that we cannot offer the military discount online, however, we can refund the difference upon arrival if requested by the guest. It is unfortunate that you were not offered this service. We will be taking steps to ensure that this will not happen in the future. We are glad... More

This was full of so much unknown facts about Seattle that anyone not familiar with should do. You we see a side of Seattle that was hard to imagine where it began and what it has become. All my friends agreed that it was the most fun thing we did.

I had been told that the underground tour was a must do when visiting Seattle, but I was truly impressed with the tour. It is about a hour of funny, interesting history and sights. I believe that they even offer a adult only tour that delves deeper into the seedier side of the history. Our tour guide was great, super... More

This is a great way to get an understanding of what Seattle was like before the great fire. Very informative. Quite a few steps for older folk but not a problem as the guide does not hurry you.

Trifecta! Really liked our tour! If you buy a quick snack from their cafe before the show, you're given a VIP pre-show... was cute! I just liked the whole experience.
