Owner description: Bill Speidel's Underground Tour is a leisurely, guided walking tour beneath Seattle’s sidewalks and streets. As you roam the subterranean passages that once were the main roadways and first-floor storefronts of old downtown Seattle, our guides regale you with the stories our pioneers didn’t want you to hear. It’s history with a twist! The tour begins inside Doc Maynard’s Public House, a restored 1890s saloon. Following a short intro, we’ll walk through historic Pioneer Square to three different sections of Underground—about three blocks in all...

Don't expect an active underground city. The city burnt down luckily after some major plumbing issues and was re-built. The underground is owned by the owners above so don't expect to roam around the underground. I thought it was awesome and gave some interesting history of the city.

Lots of things to learn with this 75 min tour. I recommend going in the fall/winter months, as there were only 13 ppl. In the summer we're told its upwards of 80 ppl for each tour. Clay Ballard is animated, great story teller. And a musician to boot!

What a great tour. I highly recommend this. It was a rainy day in Seattle and we decided to go on the underground tour, so worth it..our guide was so funny in telling how the tunnel came about. We enjoyed the tour so much, so much history.highly recommend this tour.

Our tour guide Dean was fantastic and shared a huge amount of history about Seattle. Amazing seedy side to early settlement, needless to say I will never look at a seamstress the same way. The atmosphere and information kept our group of teenagers engaged for about ninety minutes which is a great effort. Tip: the toilets at the headquarters are... More

Our tour guide Chris was hilarious, his comic delivery made an already interesting tour even better!! There are "adult only" tours later in the evening that come w a cocktail from the small laid back bar and apparently more sultry details of the city's not so innocent past ;) Loved it!

Because of the humor that was put into the interesting facts given in regards to the construction of Seattle we enjoyed the underground tour. The only complaint we have is the group was large and if you get stuck in the back you many not hear the tour guide.

I absolutely loved this tour. The guide was entertaining and informative so I laughed and learned during this excursion. You start in the ground floor of a building where food, drink and toilets are available. When your group is up you're directed to a larger room where you can sit and take one last potty break before the guide starts... More

If you hate jokes and history - you will hate this tour, because it is jam packed with hilarious jokes and fascinating stories about the origin of Seattle. How the crapper was born from Thomas Crapper - age old brothels- and the non- engineers who designed Seattle so the sewage ran on the streets daily. We had patty has our... More

While I enjoyed learning about Seattle's history, and our tour guide was great, I left feeling that something was missing. When we went underground I was hoping to see more relics of the past. This tour had a lot of potential but in my opinion just needed a little more visual history.

A leisurely, guided walking tour beneath Seattle’s sidewalks and streets which I enjoyed thoroughly being a history lover and it became more thrilling and entertaining because of the guide we had.
