Description: Bill Speidel's Underground Tour is a leisurely, guided walking tour...
Bill Speidel's Underground Tour is a leisurely, guided walking tour beneath Seattle’s sidewalks and streets. As you roam the subterranean passages that once were the main roadways and first-floor storefronts of old downtown Seattle, our guides regale you with the stories our pioneers didn’t want you to hear. It’s history with a twist! The tour begins inside Doc Maynard’s Public House, a restored 1890s saloon. Following a short intro, we’ll walk through historic Pioneer Square to three different sections of Underground—about three blocks in all...

Whenever we have out of town guests, we recommend this tour. It is so informative, fun, and you learn a lot about the history of Seattle. If you are locals and haven't done it - GET GOING!! You'll seriously enjoy learning about our beautiful city's history.

I've lived in Seattle for most of my life, and I've only taken this tour once before, over 20 years ago. I remember it as being kind of dull and uninspiring. My wife has been bugging me to do the tour for years now, and I finally relented. It was great! The tour guide always makes or breaks an experience... More

This is a unique city tour, that many major cities do not offer. You see history preserved first hand. It is a good experience to do on a rainy day. Mostly inside, but you do go outside between buildings as you progress on the tour. Yes, it is a tourist attraction, so there is no reason to be surprised with... More

Cool tour of Seattle in earlier days, great history, great information, walking tour includes stairs so not for those who don't like walks. No services during the tour but food/drinks and bathrooms before and after.

This underground tour is an easy going tour for most ages. The guides will walk you through history while keeping things fun and interesting and show you some amazing old underground material in Seattle Washington. Prices are not too bad either but don't fall for the ghost tour.

This was, today, a return to the Seattle Underground Tour with friends form overseas. Immense disappointment at what this trusted "old reliable friend" has become. Most of the charm of the tour I highlighted in my previous review is gone. Apparently the three sections of underground space to which the tour limits itself (it seems the tour contents shrunk down,... More

We really enjoyed this. There is a lot of interesting history presented and a lot of interesting sights. Our tour guide, Dave, was a great story teller and it was obvious he was interested in the stories he was relating of Seattle's history. This is a must do for anyone interested in the history of Seattle.

I've been on this tour probably 4 times in the last 10 years and have enjoyed it every time. I usually take out-of-town guests here and they have all enjoyed it as well. While the material is presented in a fun way, it is also educational. I highly recommend getting the book "Sons of the Profits" at the end of... More

Took the tour on Feb. 14th. The group was very large so they broke us into 2 groups. My tour guide was Graham and he was great. Very knowledgable and made the tour fun and entertaining. Not a whole to see but good to hear the history of Seattle. Been on better underground tours in other cities but this was... More

This is the most fun underground tour I have been on. The stories are really quite humorous and interesting. Everyone should go to this once...unless they are easily offended by colorful history.
