Description: Bill Speidel's Underground Tour is a leisurely, guided walking tour...
Bill Speidel's Underground Tour is a leisurely, guided walking tour beneath Seattle’s sidewalks and streets. As you roam the subterranean passages that once were the main roadways and first-floor storefronts of old downtown Seattle, our guides regale you with the stories our pioneers didn’t want you to hear. It’s history with a twist! The tour begins inside Doc Maynard’s Public House, a restored 1890s saloon. Following a short intro, we’ll walk through historic Pioneer Square to three different sections of Underground—about three blocks in all...

You have to go on the tour because it is so unique. The tour guide was a funny and the site was cool. When you enter you buy tickets and then wait for the tour to begin. They have a bar with drinks and appetizers for you while you wait. The bartender claims that they make the "worlds best bloody... More

We were introduced to this attraction by friends (daughter's in-laws) and I am glad they did. I admit I was not familiar with the attraction and was a little skeptical but after the exposure, you do get a sense of what it must have been like way back when. Sure, it's not a shiny, bright, bells and whistles type of... More

The tour was slightly longer than an hour with full of story. While there was nothing to 'wow', the guide was really good at telling the historic stories, and it was great to see the 100+ years underground conserved.

Myself and my wife visited this tour as we loved it so much the first time round, and this visit was even better than the first. Before you begin the walking tour you are given a 15 minute intro from a hilarious guide who will give you some background to the formation of Seattle and there are loads of laughs.... More

Great tour of the historic underground. Our tour guide was funny, knowledgeable and interesting. A must do while in Seattle. If you go, try and avoid the weekends. We had the group behind us flash the room lights to scoot us along due the the large amount of people taking the tour. Felt like we missed a few stories and... More

This was an informative (history of Seattle) and entertaining tour (good guide), however, it was a little long on the underground. There really isn't much to see underground except the passageways that used to be the sidewalks, but I don't think three separate trips underground in different areas made it any more interesting than if we just did one. Maybe... More

It's astonishing to see and hear what it took for Seattle rise out of a soggy tidal plane. The tour and presentation are very well done, with a great deal of historical context colored by amusing anecdotes. I'd highly recommend it.

We are glad you enjoyed Bill Speidel's Underground Tour! With regard to your questions about the evening tour's age restriction, the Underworld Tour is an age 21+ tour due to the R-rated content about Seattle's Red Light District and the alcoholic beverage that is included with the price of admission. Thank you for your review. We hope you enjoyed your... More
