Description: Bill Speidel's Underground Tour is a leisurely, guided walking tour...
Bill Speidel's Underground Tour is a leisurely, guided walking tour beneath Seattle’s sidewalks and streets. As you roam the subterranean passages that once were the main roadways and first-floor storefronts of old downtown Seattle, our guides regale you with the stories our pioneers didn’t want you to hear. It’s history with a twist! The tour begins inside Doc Maynard’s Public House, a restored 1890s saloon. Following a short intro, we’ll walk through historic Pioneer Square to three different sections of Underground—about three blocks in all...

I had one day to spend in downtown Seattle, and this was a good way to spend time. It was informational and funny, and a decent walk. My tour guide was Graham, and he does his job well. His way of storytelling and cracking jokes made the hour-long tour pass by very quickly, and I was sad when we reached... More

Don't miss this tour that starts in Pioneer Square. Our guide was an accomplished stand-up comedian who walked us through the subterranean sidewalks and establishments in the early days of downtown Seattle. He regaled us with incredible tales of the city's beginnings that you're unlikely to read in a guidebook. The material is terrific, but our 7pm show was not... More

We took the day tour. It is very much a history lesson about the city. Our guide was well informed and entertaining however, it was a bit boring and not exactly what we were expecting. It is a decent amount of walking. Not for young child. I recommend this tour only if you are a history buff.

Fascinating tour, History I never imagined could be true. They offer several tours of differing lengths and rating. The family friendly tour provides more information about the history of Seattle and how the underground came to be. There is an adult version that is much more risque and covers more details about the seedier side of Seattle. There is also... More

While a bit "touristy", this is an attraction worth seeing. Starting out in Pioneer Square you a lot about the history of the city and its first occupants. Then tour then goes underground to the original city streets one story below the current street level. The tour guides sprinkle in some humor while they tell the story. While a little... More

I did this to her about 30 years ago when I was little so when we came back with a friend we thought it would be fun to do it again. I don't remember much back then but this time it was fun and informational. I believe our tour guides name was Sarah she was funky and had lots of... More

This was my second visit, but this time went with my family. It was great the first time I went. Tour guide was good. The second time was okay. I had great and enthusiastic tour guides but I think my first tour guide was better. My second tour guide was so-so in terms of information. He also talked too fast... More

lived in Seattle most of my life and finally did the Underground Tour! It was interesting to learn the history of my city. The guide was funny and the tour was a quick 90 minutes. Highly recommend.
