Description: Bill Speidel's Underground Tour is a leisurely, guided walking tour...
Bill Speidel's Underground Tour is a leisurely, guided walking tour beneath Seattle’s sidewalks and streets. As you roam the subterranean passages that once were the main roadways and first-floor storefronts of old downtown Seattle, our guides regale you with the stories our pioneers didn’t want you to hear. It’s history with a twist! The tour begins inside Doc Maynard’s Public House, a restored 1890s saloon. Following a short intro, we’ll walk through historic Pioneer Square to three different sections of Underground—about three blocks in all...

We went on this tour to kill a couple hours before a baseball game. The neighborhood was a bit challenging but not horrible. The tour guide was very interesting and made the tour that much more enjoyable. The history was awesome and the walk itself wasn't too challenging. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys history and good stories.

I did the family underground tour a few years ago and this time took the red light tour. Both are intriguing. Our tour guide was most excellent!

A fun experience for older family members. The tour goes under the streets and sidewalks of Old Town Seattle. The tour starts in a former gorgeous bar. Individuals who bought a drink were given priority seating. However, drinks are not allowed on the tour. Our very large group was divided into 4, and everyone was scrambled together. No real advantage... More

An interesting tour to do if you have a spare few hours or if it's raining, which it does a lot in Seattle. Our guide was funny and informative and you will be amazed at why and what's underground.

We were staying in a hotel just outside Pioneer Square and saw this attraction. We had a fantastic tour guide and we took over an hour discovering the Seattle of yesteryear right under the same streets we had been walking for the past few days. Thank the preservation society for keeping this tour alive.

Bill Speidel's Underground Tour is the BEST underground tour in Seattle! It's not only fun and entertaining but very informative.... full of interesting history and facts about Seattle. I highly recommend it for families (but not if children are real young) and for couples! It gives great insight into how this amazing city began, it's struggles and how it eventually... More

You start off with a 30 min narration about Seattle in the late 1800's and how Seattle was originally built. You then go through 3 sections of the city that are underground and learn about the history and why this section of he city is underground. Very informative, guides who mix humor and answer everyones questions.

We went on the Underworld Tour, which is a spinoff of the Underground Tour that takes place at night and focuses on the adult-themed history of the underground. I am generously giving it two stars because our tour guide, Rose, tried her best to make the tour interesting. However it was terrible. First, we arrived early in Pioneer Square where... More

After many hours of researching the internet about Seattle, I came across a website for this tour and thought it was really interesting, so I booked it and so pleased I did!! Yes, it's quirky, but it was also a great way of finding out the history of Seattle and how it has evolved into the city it is Major... More
