As you roam the subterranean passages that once were the main roadways and first-floor storefronts of old downtown Seattle, our guides regale you with the stories our pioneers didn’t want you to hear. It’s history with a twist! The tour begins inside Doc Maynard’s Public House, a restored 1890s saloon. Following a short intro, we’ll walk through historic Pioneer Square to three different sections of Underground—about three blocks in all... « less

I really liked this tour. I thought the length was just long enough to keep my attention and the tour was very informative about the history and planning of Seattle. The tour includes a walk through the Old Seattle underground, a walk through some alleys of Pioneer Square between historic buildings, and a walk through the site of the steam... More

If you expect something super exciting or a complete restoration of how Seattle looked when the underground WAS Seattle, you will be disappointed. This is a historic tour designed to teach you about the history of Seattle: how it got it's start and about how it evolved. The guides are funny and a little cheesy, but they give it a... More

The tour guide we had (I'm sure all of them) are the best tour guides of any tour I have had. It was a comedy show and brief of Seattle history rolled up into one for a very reasonable price ($18). The underground is not scary at all, and I would go back to one of their other tours with... More

As a visitor to Seattle, I was interested in learning about the city's history. Underground Tour does a wonderful job of doing that. There is a good deal of humor interspersed in the account of the city's early days. Walking under the current street level was fun.

Have heard about this tour from my friend and thought I'd join. The tour guide was funny and made the tour really fun. Learned quite a bit about Seattle's history. The visits to the original ground level (which is below the current street level) was fascinating. Be aware, though, that you'll need a reasonable understanding of English in order to... More

We traveled under the street and buildings for about 1.5 hours. We learned about the beginning of San Fran and the people that were responsible. It was much more educational than I was imagining. Was a good experience. Although it was pretty average, I would recommend it...

Everyone says to do the tour, and I can see why. The history on the tour is interesting. The guides are lively and happy (almost pleading) to answer questions. The whole phenomenon is just too cool (and difficult to explain). Tough to take good fotos, tho. Don't know if you need to do it twice (tho my wife said it... More

This was very informative, the guide was very knowledgeable & funny. It was amazing to see part of the old city underground. I would suggest this to everyone! I was happy to NOT see any spiders, rats etc. It was very clean!

Great humor and information on this tour. We had adults, seniors, college and elementary aged children whom all enjoyed this tour as well. Great way to start the day.

Compared to some of the other tours around town, the Underground Tour is a pretty great bargain. If you're into history, this is a fun way to learn about Seattle. There are stairs since you go underground (I think we went underground three times). It's a quick tour but if you decide to have a beer or a cocktail during... More
