Bill Speidel's Underground Tour is a leisurely, guided walking tour beneath Seattle’s sidewalks and streets. As you roam the subterranean passages that once were the main roadways and first-floor storefronts of old downtown Seattle, our guides regale you with the stories our pioneers didn’t want you to hear. It’s history with a twist! The tour begins inside Doc Maynard’s Public House, a restored 1890s saloon. Following a short intro, we’ll walk through historic Pioneer Square to three different sections of Underground—about three blocks in all...

BENEATH THE SIDEWALKS OF SEATTLE

It was a very interesting tour of the subterranean history of Seattle. My husband and learned a lot about the days of old and what makes Seattle so special.

I took this tour while visiting the city with my family and friends--4 adults and 4 kids ages 10-13. We all enjoyed it! The beginning of the tour included a history of Seattle from a very animated guide who gave us a TON of interesting information in a short amount of time. I wish we had a copy of his... More

My wife and I have done many "ghost tours" around the country and this was by far the worst we have done. Usually, what makes ghost tours fun are the historical aspects that the stories provide given, usually, by great storytellers. However, our guides seemed relatively unknowledgeable (indeed they weren't even from Seattle originally), offering 2 very vague stories in... More

The tour is both interesting and funny. See the first Seattle on a walking tour. There are steps to get underground and back to street level, wear comfortable shoes.

This place is awesome and creepy at the same time. We had our nine year old daughter with us and she enjoyed it too! You get to learn about Seattle's early years and you get to walk through it and see artifacts! At the end there is a mini "museum" and gift shop for souvenirs. Our guide Jacob was great... More

Our tour guide, Graham was hilarious, telling the story of Seattle in a funny, yet highly informative way. Highly recommended.

Visited on 1/30/16. Tour guide was excellent. Provided great information with a humoristic twist. Well work the cost to find more about the history of downtown Seattle.

The reviews suggested it was going to be laughter filled but instead it had well rehearsed but flat jokes. Although the history is somewhat interesting, there is very little to see.

This tour was fantastic! Tour guide Jacob was very informative and charismatic. He was extremely passionate about the information being presented and made sure that every single person in the group was getting the best out of the experience. Tours teach you about Seattle's birth and growth during the 1800s, while walking through the old streets and buildings that have... More

The highlight of this tour was the guide, Leon, who did a great job. His commentary was animated, informative and entertaining. The story of Seattle's history was new to us, great for history buffs. The underground walk itself was okay ... good context to the history, but really just a walk through some very old, damp basements, rough in spots.... More
