As you roam the subterranean passages that once were the main roadways and first-floor storefronts of old downtown Seattle, our guides regale you with the stories our pioneers didn’t want you to hear. It’s history with a twist! The tour begins inside Doc Maynard’s Public House, a restored 1890s saloon. Following a short intro, we’ll walk through historic Pioneer Square to three different sections of Underground—about three blocks in all... « less

I had no idea about the history of Seattle and was delighted to discover that a whole new (old) world exists beneath Seattle. The tour guides were both entertaining enthusiastic and informative, we loved the story if the seamstresses and how they assisted the funding if Seattle in times gone by. HIGHLY recommended

An interesting view and good historic content. Was expecting more humor with this tour in regard to the stories told along the way. We had a large tour group of 35-40 - would have preferred a smaller number so access would have been easier and viewing easier.

We were attending a wedding in Seattle and took a private tour as part of the wedding celebrations. Our guide was a 7th grade history teacher and he told his story in a passionate, inspiring and humorous way. Engaging both the adults and children. If you have a spare hour I would really recommend this tour.

Well lit, lots of history. Tour guide was very humorous and knew a lot about the history of Seattle. Especially loved the story about the price for rat tails.

Always looking for places that tell you about a city's history I ended up going on the underground tour. The guide was very informative and had a great sense of humor. Can you imagine going around in a city where the streets go up in an angle of about 40 degrees ? And that when people still used horses as... More

I visited this tour before, but it's been many years. I went back with my grown son and we had such a good time! I've seen some non-awesome reviews for this, but honestly, I don't know what people are expecting. This isn't Disneyland. It's a underground tour of three buildings, all within about a block from each other, so what... More

Wanna learn how this city was built & some good juicy lore, this is the tour for you. There is a paranormal one too, wished we had the time to do that one. The adult one was super informative and I'd do it again in an instance. The best part is you can have cocktails while you wait and one... More

This was an interesting tour. Our guide, her name escapes me, was extremely knowledgeable about all things Seattle. The history of Seattle is very interesting. I learned things I never knew, one of which is how the great fire of Seattle started. A great thing to do in Seattle.

This tour gives you a very unique perspective on the history of Seattle. We heard a lot about the city on the earlier general overview tour, but his gave us an opportunity for a real "eyes-on" experience. The tour was very well organized and the guide was very knowledgeable. The walking is pretty easy, but you do go up and... More

Thanks to the mystery and intrigue that hastens visitors to the Seattle Underground, I could put Adam Harlow, a young Seattle engineer with an amazing fuel formula in the novel AQUALENE right here in the perfect hideout from Big Oil in his quest to replace gasoline. Speidel's tours inspire the imagination and humor of yester-year while giving a local author... More
