The "Sled Dog" (Gold Rush Sled Dogs) Shore Excursion with Matt and Kaci in Skagway was the BEST! It was the tour our 3 kids had been looking forward to the most on our cruise. This tour appeals to all ages, and it was, by far, the number 1 favorite experience of our entire family of 8, ages ranging from... More

Overall this was a great experience. Our tour guide Golden Boy George was very knowledgeable. It was like 5 different experiences in one. First off was the panning for gold experience which was a lot of fun. Then we able to get it weighed to find out how much we got. Next was the dredging tour which was very informative.... More

I told my husband that we "had to" see the sled dog puppies on our trip to Alaska - however, I was so fascinated by the whole Iditarod experience that I almost forgot that was part of this tour! I was totally impressed by Matt and his explanation of the race (not to mention all the work and preparation that... More

My college-aged daughter and I took this shore excursion from a Norwegian Cruise. You get a very informative and fun presentation from an actual Iditarod musher who shows you the dog sled he actually used and explains how they take care of the dogs during the competition. Then of course the highlight is seeing the actual sled dogs, petting the... More

My friends and I booked this tour randomly and mostly because it said we could hold sled dog puppies :) I can honestly say that this tour was so much fun and very informative. The tour started out with a brief history of the Iditarod and then Matt gave us the rundown of all the gear he uses and how... More

We booked our tour through Princess Cruises for gold panning, dog sledding as well as a train ride to the Yukon. It was one of the best tours I have been on. Our tour guides for the day were Gold Beard and Jackpot Jill, both were very knowledgeable and ready to assist in any way they could. The gold panning... More

Visited in May 2015 I cannot comment upon the quality of their offering, so i won't do so. However, I offer a word of warning to the unsuspecting tourist. We took the all-day shuttle from Skagway, which dropped us off at the entrance to the attraction. (Thus stranding us there until the shuttle returned. as it was too far to... More

Thanks for your feedback, John. We're sorry that you didn't have the opportunity to experience all that Klondike Gold Fields has to offer. Just to clarify, the local "all-day shuttle" from Skagway to the Klondike Gold Fields is a five minute ride from downtown Skagway. You can purchase an all day pass for 5 dollars which allows you to ride... More

This is one of those tourist traps so don't expect much more. I really didn't know what to expect when I walked in, but was quickly informed that I had to pay ($29.99) to enter the property. [I did not expect that!] Naturally, there are other "add-ons" like dog sledding and other fluff, but I was not interested. The property... More

This was a great tour. The sled dog demonstration was very interesting and fun and it was awesome to hear about Matt's experience in the iditarod. The gold panning and the staff were awesome as well. I would highly recommend this tour.
