Here at the Klondike Gold Fields in Skagway, Alaska, you can immerse yourself in the history and beauty of the Klondike Gold Rush. Visitors are transported back to the 1890s as our costumed staff meets, greets, guides, and entertains them. Our site includes everything from gold panning, to Iditarod sled dogs, to an authentic dredge and a chamber where you can experience 40-below temperatures. On site you can enjoy the many attractions and displays including a dress up photo shack, movies, and educational exhibits. There is also a restaurant and brewery to allow our guests to make a day of it at the Klondike Gold Fields. We aren’t just tours – we are an experience!

We did a White Pass & Yukon route day trip with the Klondike Gold dredging at the end. One of the tour guides shows you round the old gold dredging works and tells you the history of the Klondike then you are shown how to pan for gold. Then its your turn to try your hand at gold panning. You... More

We took this tour as "Klondike Family Challenge" off of the Disney Alaska Cruise. It was the BEST tour, because it include SO many things to see and do. Just a quick rattle off, Dog Sled and Puppies, Gold Panning with actual Gold, Large Fabulous Lunch, 40 degree below experience, Gold Rush Brewery Rootbeer tastings for kids and beer samplings... We were in Skagway for our third time, so decided this time to do the Klondike Gold Dredge Tours. It was a great day and everything was well timed. Our tour guide was amazing and did a great job. We purchased the package deal with the attractions and lunch. Our first activity was gold panning. After we were done, they... More

We booked the Gold Panning, Sled Dogs and 40 Below excursion onboard Celebrity Cruises. It is a 3 hour trip with multiple departure times and cost USD 85.75. We were met at the dock by Golden Hair George in his fetching outfit. He gave us a bit of a history lesson as we drove through Skagway (essentially one street) to... More

We booked this through NCL Jewel cruise and found out later that this is $35 more per person than just booked it off the tour center. Cost is about $100 per person if you booked it at the tour center. The panning of the gold was great. Kids found about $8 of gold each and we found about $10 of... More

Had a great time, very informative and very fun! Everyone got about $12 worth of gold and the tour even included beer tasting for the adults and root beer tasting for the kids! The only reason I didn't give them a rating of 5 was due to the lunch food. It wasn't a great selection and the hot options were... More

This is a neat little place outside of town that offers a lot to do. We started by mining for gold (found $25 worth), then toured the dredge which is short, but interesting. Next we had a fantastic BBQ lunch with drinks from the brewery. The kids loved seeing the sled dogs, learning about the Iditarod race from one who... More

We booked the Gold Rush Sled Dogs and White Pass Adventure tour from our cruise ship and went directly there by bus from the boat in the morning. We were given a presentation by Matt who is extremely knowledgeable about this sport and who has a delightful personality with a great sense of humor. He explained in detail the preparations... A fraternal cruise with family members led us to this the little gem of an attraction, the staff was excellent and provided the entrainment. A little history mixed with some science and a bag of dirt, now you're taking part in the history of panning for gold. the kids had a great time, This attraction has one of the best... More
