Since 1923, The Days of '98 show has stupefied and bedazzled audiences with the tale of Jefferson Randolph "Soapy" Smith, Alaska's most notorious outlaw. Soapy reigned over Skagway during the wildest days of the Klondike Gold Rush, and this colorful vaudevillian musical recounts his incredible life and dramatic demise! With can-can dancers, ragtime music, riotous humor, and the great con-man himself, Soapy Smith, this show is a treat for the whole family! « less

This small theater in Skagway has only one show, called “The Day’s of 98”, a vaudeville style musical about the last days of Soapy Smith. Opened in 1923, this is their 91st season. The show was very lively and fun, particularly since I’d just finished studying the colorful past of the gold rush in Skagway. No history of southeastern Alaska... More

Whar a fantastic show this was. The cast were so friendly, and multi-talented. We enjoyed the gambling session before the show with pretend money. It was so much fun and the cast were happy to pose for photos and chat after the show. We would thoroughly recommend this show to everyone.

My husband wanted a break from all the endless jewellery shops and was happy to take a break when someone approached him and asked him if he was interested in watching a performance. I quickly agreed. It was a fabulous show and very entertaining and funny! I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Skagway. The show girls even persuaded... More

We attended the late show and had lots of fun. Show up an hour early and they the actors played pretend gambling games with the arriving guests. The show was fun and explained a big part of Skagway's beginning. The singing was entertaining and playful, they also selected people to be a part of the show a few times. I... More

Relax, sit back, and simply enjoy the show. A one hour production that has something for everyone. The show is a rendition conman Soapy Smith's story. Not to be missed.

This was a cute show that lasted about an hour. We happened upon it after we finished our Chilkoot River hike and got back to Skagway. It was something to do for the little extra time that we had before getting back on the ship. Had some singing, dancehall girls performing and a storyline about Soapy Smith.

An excellent history of Skagway, the gold rush of 1898 and of some of the towns most famous founders, like "Soapy" Smith in musical form. A fabulous show, amazing talent, very entertaining. Highly recommended on your visit to Skagway!

The Days of 98 Show, staring Soapy Smith, the life of a bad guy who tried so hard to make people believe he was really good, is fun and very entertaining from start to finish. Lots of music and laughs and some history thrown in. Takes place as most things do in Alaska, during the Gold Rush of 1897 and... More

Very humorous, friendly cast, and as someone from around the area I think it is a great way to learn about the gold rush history.

Well, lets start with the fact that there is very little to do or see in Skagway itself, most of the attractions are "outside" the town (you can easily walk through the entire town in 15 minutes, remember, there are less than a 1,000 people living here). There are not that many places to eat, their seating capacity is limited,... More
