Description: Skagway's "The Days of '98 Show with Soapy Smith"! - The Longest Running...
Skagway's "The Days of '98 Show with Soapy Smith"! - The Longest Running show in the north! Since 1923, The Days of '98 show has stupefied and bedazzled audiences with the tale of Jefferson Randolph "Soapy" Smith, Alaska's most notorious outlaw. Soapy reigned over Skagway during the wildest days of the Klondike Gold Rush, and this colorful vaudevillian musical recounts his incredible life and dramatic demise! With can-can dancers, ragtime music, riotous humor, and the great con-man himself, Soapy Smith, this show is a treat for the whole family!

This was one of those places that I never thought of visiting except that my cousin ended up in the cast of performers for the summer season. And! I'm so glad I went. It actually was a fun/lively performance with a mix of music, dancing and poetry. The audience participation was a nice touch too. So, if you're about time... More

Great show! The singing, dancing, music and acting were very professional. They told the story of Jefferson Smith , aka Soapy, who was a con-man and benefactor of Early Skagway. It was a very lively show with the can can dancers and an extraordinary piano man. The costumes and atmosphere were authentic.

Wonderful performance, good music, dancing and audience participation. It was fun hearing the story about Soapy Smith and seeing his grave later on a tour. The "girls" were friendly and happy to pose with folks for photos after the show. Loved it! Left the theater with a smile on my face.

The show was a great way to learn the history of the town. A talented cast entertained the audience using audience participation to bring the story of the town to life!

A period show which is full of colour, fun, atmosphere and humour. Great way to wile away an hour or so-the hidden treasure of Skagway.

We were lured in by the lady of the night, hanging from an upstairs window, who called "come in poopsie" to my husband. It was an interesting history lesson about some of the characters in the town and the general scene during the wild Gold Rush of 1898. Don't want to spoil the fun, but there is some audience participation... More

We took in a Friday evening Days of 98 show this past week while in Skagway. After paying the $20 entrance fee you are given $1000 in fake money to gamble on blackjack, Roulette, or 3,4,5. That alone was fun because, although I did not know it at the time, the actors ran the games. I managed to win $55,000;... More

Entertaining musical production of the history of Skagway and the notorious Soapy Smith. The theater is small and quaint and the performers are professionals. Admission is $20 but worth it for the hour long show.

This is a show that consists of only 5 actors. They tell the history of Soapy Smith who was one of the notorious swindlers of the gold mine days. It was both a musical and a play and they even had two segments where they pulled people from the audience to join in the play. Everyone in the show was... More
