Skagway's "The Days of '98 Show with Soapy Smith"! - The Longest Running show in the north! Since 1923, The Days of '98 show has stupefied and bedazzled audiences with the tale of Jefferson Randolph "Soapy" Smith, Alaska's most notorious outlaw. Soapy reigned over Skagway during the wildest days of the Klondike Gold Rush, and this colorful vaudevillian musical recounts his incredible life and dramatic demise! With can-can dancers, ragtime music, riotous humor, and the great con-man himself, Soapy Smith, this show is a treat for the whole family!

I really thought this would a cheesy side show, but I was wrong. This was a very entertaining and informative show. It was actually better than the show we'd seen the night before on our cruiseship. The performers, who also sold the snacks before the show, were very talented. Great way to get the history of the area.

We took our 5 year old daughter to see the show and we all loved it! It Was so entertaining! The performers are amazing and talented! They even had a few of the audience take part ( including myself to do the can-can). After the show you can talk to the performers and get pictures. Absolutely loved it! It was... More

This was a fun little performance to go to, especially if you want to stop walking around for awhile and get a bite of history. The performance gave an interesting perspective to Soapy Smith's role in Skagway that was nice to think about. The performance had a couple of interactive parts that kept the audience involved as well. The only... More

I had heard from one of the guides from an excursion that this was worth seeing but I didn't have high hopes - The theater had less than 20 people in the audience. However, once it got started I had a great time. It was funny and interesting. They tell the story of Soapy Smith and make you laugh while... More

Great show. Ticks all the boxes and tells the story very well. Loved the audience participation. The energy and enthusiasm from the cast was great. Soapy Smith has a great voice. Definitely an hour well spent.

The Days of 98 show was actually quite quaint and fun – and out of the howling wind. Interesting presentation of a con man, re 1890’s version of a consummate ‘politician’, in both a damning yet sympathetic point of view. Very cheesy, over the top, irreverent, yet, thoroughly enjoyable. We all enjoyed it – especially our granddaughter. She’s been in... More
