This was an easy walk from the cruise ship. I would not recommend continuing on to the bay. This was not worthwhile and neither was the trip to the pet cemetery. The point had some beautiful scenery and worth the half hour to an hour it took for the walk.

It is a good idea to get directions and a map for this short hike in the town visitor center. You can walk from the main downtown area or drive and park in the airport parking lot. The trail starts by going over a small river flowing into the ocean. It is a pleasant hike, but fairly short. There was... More

Having hiked this trail constantly for 20+ years, it's as familiar as the face of a lover. It is not difficult and takes me to a place I can look beyond the mountains to where we meet the sea. Sometimes whales, seals, seabirds, eagles, but always different

I hike the Yakutania Point trail system on a regular basis, and highly recommend it. This trail has a bit of everything: a little up, a little down, and quite a bit of fairly flat trail. This trail is basically a 'B' shape. You enter via a footbridge across the Skagway River. If you turn right, you follow the Skagway... More

We had a great walk out to Yakutania point, there are good views of the harbour and if you go a little further round the point you can climb on the rocks and see even further.

About 1 mile, mostly flat, easy hike. Nice views. So if you have a bit of time before your ship leaves, then this is a nice short hike. I got tired of shops, so this was perfect with my kids.

It is a Point very close to downtown Skagway which offer a grat view of the ocean and Taiya Inlet. There is a picknick table few km down the trail for a lunch when the wind from the South is not howling.

I walk this trail practically every time I go to Skagway. It is close, not too long and has beautiful views and a fresh breeze. You can watch the cruise ships come in and out or look for seals.
