This was a easier trail to walk if you want something that will only take 20 min or so. It is mostly stroller accessible. There are a few spots where strollers would need picked up. There are also some outdoor work out equipment on the way if that is your desire. The point has some fun rocks to climb over.... More

This is a very easy walk, not really a hike. If you are looking for beautiful scenery without a strenuous hike, this is the one for you. Great views. It was overcast the morning we were there, it would be even more beautiful on a sunny day. It's a short walk from town. Stop in the Visitor center and pick... More

Find the airport terminal and then cross the footbridge over the Skagway river, turn left and enjoy the easy hike to the point! What's the point? A rocky retreat where you just might seek solace and sanity, where you can still see the cruise ships and maybe even some other wildlife therefrom...... come stroll away for an hour or so.... More

You can either walk from town or drive to the airport and park in the reserved spots for hikers. For the most part the trail is easy, there are one or two areas that you have to go uphill and around some rocks. The scenery from Yakutania Point is awesome. You can continue on to Smuggler's Cove for another view... More

This is an easy hike from the south end of the airport and has some great views IF the weather allows you to see the fjord, mountains, and glacier. When we were there, it was MUCH windier than in town or on the trail and the chill factor made it unbearable to stand out on the rocks, even in August.... More

Lovely walk, close to town, great for pictures, peaceful, always a few others on the trail. A easy to find your way.... Take a book or a picnic, enjoy!

This was an easy walk. The trail is wide and well maintained up to the point where you can walk out to the actual rocky point. The view was lovely, although the mosquitoes were a bit annoying.

An easy and fairly short walk from the town, past the airport runway to the Point. Probably only 30 mins each way. A fairly flat track and easy to follow. The view from the point is lovely, and you can sit on the rocks and admire it. You can keep on going a few hundred metres further to Smugglers Cove... More

Yakutania Point gives a neat view of the western end of Skagway and the shoreline both directions from the town. You walk north on 1st Ave, past the western end of the airport runway, cross the Skagway River bridge, and see the signs showing the trail west to Yakutania Point. Most hikers will do the trail in ten minutes or... More
