I just returned from a Chilkoot Trail backpacking trip with Packer Expeditions and I can't say enough about how amazing the trip was, thanks to Packer Expeditions. I'd originally inquired about the trip back in February - prompted by the "Klondike" miniseries - and I exchanged no less than 30 emails about trip logistics, travel tips, gear, etc. and Packer... On August 7,2014 my family and I disembarked our Holland America cruise, jumped on the train in Skagway and headed up to the Glacier to go on our kayaking expedition with Packer Expeditions. My 13 & 15 yr olds were little nervous since they had never kayaked but the minute we stepped off the train and were greeted by our... More

We were part of of a tour on July 31 that started with a coach ride from the cruise terminal to a glacier lake for some kayaking. Our tour was a mix of kids and adults, with only one one or two people having kayaked before. Packer had all of the gear we needed and provided a solid on-land introduction... More

Trina, Dylan, Michael and Paul of Packer Expeditions were our guides. It was the first time many in our group had ever kayaked and they did such a good job at helping us in getting the water gear on, getting us into our kayaks and taught us newcomers how to paddle, turn, etc.. They are full of life and love... More

My husband and I travel often, much of it cruising, so we have done a lot of excursions. Our Laughton Glacier hike with George and Shawn is the most memorable!! George and Shawn picked us up to take a train ride on the White Pass/Yukon railway. They had prepared all we would need for our sack lunches. Once we arrived... More

We took this tour from Skagway, which started with a coach ride up to the Canadian border, followed by 4 miles of kayaking on glacier Lake. The Packer team were wonderful - and they had all of the wet weather gear you might need for this. There were 17 in all on the trip, with pretty mixed abilities (we being... More

We did the Laughton Glacier hike and found it well worthwhile, a great way to see a glacier up close and actually hike on it, even though parts of hike on the way to the glacier are at the more strenuous end of the scale. Trina and Grant were excellent guides and Shantee provided educational narrative commentary on the way... More

Packer Expeditions is a top notch tour company. I was blown away with their service! We did the Chilkoot Trail Hike (5 days with 4 nights of camping), and the night before the trip during gear check each person had 1-on-1 attention which really helped in calming any nerves about what to bring or not to bring. The next morning... More

While on a cruise, took the White Horse Railway/Denver Valley hike excursion with Packer. Our guide, Andy, was very knowledgable of the area and and could explain what we were seeing (or not seeing - clouds/fog) on the train and bus. While on the train we made our lunch and were loaded up with snacks and briefed on our hike... More

This was our second trip with Packer Expeditions and they certainly do a wonderful job. The guides are skilled and remarkably good at making people comfortable regardless of their skill level. They are meticulous about safety, without being didactic. The lake is beautiful and, by happy coincidence, accessible via an historic train. Equipment is excellent . I would highly recommend... More
