This tour company has been in business for many years, owned by a local family (former mayor of the town). They will guide up the Chilkoot Trail, even sherpa the packs. All of the guides are EMT's and very competent. One great tour is taking the train to Laughton Glacier and hiking up to the Glacier. Guides are very knowledgeable... More

What I love about this tour was that I got to enjoy the beautiful Alaskan scenery on a train, then got to kayak in that beautiful scenery! Our tour guide Curtis met us early morning off of our cruise ship. Curtis is awesome; hes funny, friendly and just a nice guy over all. He explained to us the events of... More

Going on the Laughton Glacier Wilderness Hike and White Pass Railway Adventure was by far the best excursion we did on our cruise to Alaska. The crew from Packer were experienced, professional and friendly. They had everything thought out and had all equipment and food we could possibly need. We love to hike and the hike through the temperate rainforest... More

All I can say is that this was a fabulous trek!! We hiked through the Tongass National Forest, on a very well maintained and impressive path. We had 3 guides, Andy, Alex and Aiyah(?) who made sure that we had EVERYTHING( snacks/ water/ hot drinks) we needed. We made it to a breathtaking, (in more ways than one) glacier with... More

We were on a NCL cruise and I was a little nervous booking an excursion not through the cruise line. The cruise line price for this excursion was $260 and the price through Packer was $210. With 4 people that was a $200 savings. The Packer people were on time, very knowledgable, very personable and helpful. The excursion couldn't have... More

Booked this excursion while on Celebrity Cruises. What a great hike. 1st The train ride up the mountain to the trail was stunning. Along the way our guides gave us the history of area. It was a beautiful journey to Laughton Glacier. Along the way many great views of the river and glacier. After reaching the glacier. We enjoyed a... More

Excursion was booked through Holland America. Guide Andy was thoroughly knowledgable about the rain forest flora seen on the Denver Valley trail. He kept hikers moving to see as much as possible in the allotted time yet would always stop when required to describe items of interest. The ride on White Pass and Yukon Railroad was interesting but not nearly... More

My husband and I are hikers but also 60 years old. We did this excursion on August 26th as an excursion from our cruise. Group of 18 hikers and 3 guides. This is a strenuous hike, particularly over the boulder field, but one of the best experiences ever. We wanted to get away from the port and really see the... More

This was a great day out in the Alaskan wilderness. Packer Expedition's guides, C.J., Aiya and Firebeard were stellar. Very knowledgable guides, obviously enjoying what they do. The 7-8 mile hike to the glacier was excellent, and layering clothing is a must. The guides are all about safety, so there were no concerns amongst our group of twelve. I would... More

We were picked up by a guide at the seaport. They put us on a bus and drove to Fraser, BC. A lovely drive. There we took the train about 2/3 way back, got off and hiked for a few hours. Got on the train, went back to Skagway. The guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. We learned a lot... More
