This was a great day out in the Alaskan wilderness. Packer Expedition's guides, C.J., Aiya and Firebeard were stellar. Very knowledgable guides, obviously enjoying what they do. The 7-8 mile hike to the glacier was excellent, and layering clothing is a must. The guides are all about safety, so there were no concerns amongst our group of twelve. I would... More

We were picked up by a guide at the seaport. They put us on a bus and drove to Fraser, BC. A lovely drive. There we took the train about 2/3 way back, got off and hiked for a few hours. Got on the train, went back to Skagway. The guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. We learned a lot... More

This was an outstanding adventure to experience Alaska at it's best. We booked from our cruise line and we were looking for an adult only, faster paced all day event and the tour surpassed all expectations. The Guides were Awesome! Andy, Ashley and Kailey made the trip fun, informative and perfect for everyone (16 guest, 3 guides, no children). Some... More

I participated in this excursion on August 17th. The three guides (John, John, and Kailey) were wonderful and a wealth of information. Lumbar packs, trekking poles, creepers, water, lunch, and loads of snacks were provided. Follow the recommendations and dress in layers as the temperature varies from the woods to the glacier. Lunch on the glacier was amazing. I spent... More

This was one of the shore excursions available that I was really looking forward to and I wasn't disappointed! I wanted to experience the real Alaska, without hoards of people about. It was amazing, coming through the trees, over the boulder field and finally unto the glacier. We had lots of time on the glacier to explore and experience the... More

We booked this tour through our cruise line. Didn't know what to expect but it was fabulous. We took a bus up to Fraser, B.C. from Skagway. Then we kayaked at Lake Bernard which is beautiful! The weather was not great when we arrived but quickly turned to blue sky. The kayak trip was great and then on the way... More

Our heli-hike-train adventure (Princess excursion SGY-850) was everything I had hoped it would be...and more! The combination of a helicopter flight, rain forest hike to a glacial valley, and the train ride return made for an unforgettable experience. Our Temsco helicopter flew us over our hiking route then delivered us to the railway-side trail head (see my separate review of... More

We recently took the White Pass and Yukon Railway and Lake Kayak Adventure on Celebrity cruises. The train ride was very beautiful. (The tour narrator was great.) When we got to the end of the train ride we were met by the Packer Expedition guides and we walked over to Lake Bernard for our kayaking. My husband and I have... More

WOW what a day! The guides were so much fun and very knowledgable. Hiked to Laughton Glacier today with a group of 17. Had lunch on the glacier and the group was provided with lunch, snacks, gear, hand warmers and hot chocolate:). Would definitely recommend this trip to anyone and I would go on the adventure again!

This tour is offered through most cruise ships or can be booked independently if not available. The Train ride was amazingly beautiful, (even in the rain) with informative narration along the way. We got off the train in Fraser B.C. where our expert guides made sure we were well instructed and very well outfitted for any kind of weather. A... More
