Located right on the hotel property, the trail was created by our hotel’s professional nature guides and is designed to showcase a variety of tropical flora and fauna as it winds its way throughout this rare and incredibly diverse biosphere. As a part of only 2.5% of the planet’s remaining cloud forests, this unique forest habitat continues to amaze our hotel guests and guides, as well as the trained research scientists from INBio (The National Institute of Biodiversity), who stablished staff the first research station to operate on a hotel property in Costa Rica. « less

It is a very green place with a constant mist. It is high as 1800 meters. There are close places to buy palmetto cheese, coffee, sweets and take a break. Hotel Villa Blanca is near to this place. The place is on the route to the Arenal Volcano in La Fortuna de San Carlos.

It was full of new plants and animals that I have never seen. Nice walking trails and the weather was beautiful.

So gorgeous being above the clouds. The foliage is lush and flowers beautiful. Not many places where you can feel relaxed and serene.

One of the highlights of our visit. Great to see how the clouds roll in and out. Some clear patches and then the clouds. Very unusual.

I have reservations about unequivocally recommending this site, but it was nevertheless one of the highlights of our trip. Probably not for everyone, and it does not have an "adventure site." We had difficulty finding this location, in part because we did not realize it was affiliated with the Villa Blanca hotel property. This is located about 11 km off... More

While not particularly large, we nonetheless spent >4 hours walking the trails, observing wonderful birds and vegetation. A definite must if in the area. Ask for Rodrigo as your guide to assure a learning experience.

I booked a jungle tour at the Los Angelos Cloud Forest in March 2013, which is supposed to be the dry season. It was raining, misty, storming and cold. According to the guide it was too dangerous to walk in the forest due to the risk of falling branches. Due to the bad weather all animals were hiding. We made... More
