A magnificent creation to behold. Had a wonderful ride out with Major Marine Tours on the "Spirit of Adventure", and even though it was foggy much of the way, we were able to fully view - and listen to - this beautiful mountain of ice. The sun came out over the area as we stopped the ship for an incredible... More

We went on a 7 1/2 hour tour with Marjor Marine. We were able to spend quite a bit of time viewing the glacier, watching calving and listening to the "thunder", pops and cracks deep within the glacier. A friend with a birding interest saw red faced cormorants in the ice flow.

One of the best places to have your lunch, in front of Holgate glacier watching it calve with ice bergs around your boat. Then there is also the Surprise glacier close to it. Its wonderful.

We went via Kjfords cruise tour , it was just amazing ...spellbound. It was sad to see the ice calve and it melt as result of raising temperature. How ever it was very amazing experience !

Our boat tour took us within 1/4 mile away. We got to see the ice calve about 10 times. Each time it would calve there was a loud boom and sometimes a big wave for a large chuck of ice. It was amazing to see all the ice in the water.

Took a cruise with Major Marines Tour to see Holgate Glacier and was truly amazed by it's beauty. Although not very active on the day we were there, just the blue color.. so breathtaking!!! Don't miss a chance to see....

On certain days the glacier will break off significantly which is an amazing site! We saw this while on the Kenai Fjords Marine tour and were lucky enough to be there on a good day. The crashing and floating ice was breathtaking. The ride there also included many sites of animals not typically seen on land.

The Holgate Glacier is the star attraction for any boat trip into Aialik Bay, Kenai Fjords NP. When I visited we saw several large pieces of ice calve off right before our eyes, and the ice was an unearthly blue color. Don't miss it!

Took a day cruise with Alaska Saltwater Lodge and tours. The glacier is so huge and magnificent. Saw several glacier "calves" or calving. We were blessed with a beautiful sunny day to view this.
