We were at Holgate Glacier yesterday and witnessed the caving of the glacier. A true once in a lifetime experience. A Bucket List must. Don't miss it.

Is it polite to watch a calving? I hope so -- because I did. You'll get to see "blue ice", crevases and hanging glaciers as well. You'll be aboard a boat so you'll probably see Steller Sea Lions, seals,Puffins, Eagles, Sea Otters and whales as well. Have a great time!

We viewed this glacier from a Major Cruise excursion. They spent plenty of time afloat directly in front of the glacier giving you a great opportunity to experience calving. We saw it calf a few times while we were there. It is amazing how you catch a glimpse of it calving and then watch it continue to descend the glacier... More

Amazing glacier! got very up close with the Portage Glacier cruse. They spent a good amount of time next to the glacier. Very friendly crew and the ranger did a great job with her explanations and exhibits.

Alaska has a lot of glaciers, but you can see this glacier at very short distance. The amazing glacier has waterfalls right next to it, and it adds beauty.

Highlight of Kenai fjords tour. Picture perfect like what you expect to see in Alaska. Sad to see global warming slowly take away these beauties.
