I would suggest that to start out with enough clothes so that you are just cool as you will get warmer as you paddle more

My husband and I decided to splurge on Sunny Cove's Grand Day Tour and it was absolutely worth the cost - a unique way to experience the serenity and majesty of Alaska. Abundant wildlife, spectacular scenery, and a guide who was extremely knowledgeable and personable. more

The 3 hour sunset paddle was great. Lots of sea otters and great views. Our guide, Brett, was very knowledgeable about kayaking, as well as the area in which we were kayaking and Alaska in general. He made us feel confident in our abilities as kayakers, even though we were just starting out. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone.... more

Sunny Cove is a very professional organization, from their shore team to on-the-water staff. During the planning stages and day of paddling we were kept informed and well taken care of. Well run organization! more

Even though we had no "cloud faliure" on our trip, the water was calm and the paddling easy and relaxing. We saw Harbor Porpoise, Sea Otters and lots of Bald Eagles. We particularly enjoyed the short hike to Fort McGilvary. The view of Resurrection Bay from the Fort was beautiful and we shared a bit of our lunch with two... more

We were really looking forward to kayaking in Alaska, and Sunny Cove's evening kayak trip delivered a terrific experience!! Our guide, Peter, was patient, informative and good-spirited. We were delighted to encounter various wildlife, including bald eagles, sea otters and jumping fish. ...And all this in the midst of a stunning Alaskan setting, with the backdrop of snow-covered mountains. Truly,... more

Bring a camera and an open ear as you explore Resurrection Bay via a Sunny Cove Sea Kayak. Our guide Peter filled us in on the bird and ocean life visible to us as we kayaked -- including several Bald Eagles, a few sea otters, lots of jumping salmon, and a seal. Who knew that an Eagle's cry sounded so... more

My husband and I had a wonderful morning with the guides at Sunny Cove. I am an Alaskan and had done the wildlife boat tours a million times, so I thought this would be a great alternative for me and a way to introduce my New Yorker husband to the Alaskan outdoors. What started out as a rather rainy miserable... more
