I visited I.R.B.I in March of 2014 while in Alaska for the Iditarod. We stopped by and talked to Virgil, and he gave us a tour of the shop. I ordered a knife with the Mammoth bone handle. If you want a hand made....totally hand made knife of great quality, this is the place. My wife and I have three knives made by the Virgil. I have bought a lot of custom knives, but virgils's are the best of the best. I now own two and am anxiously awaiting a third custom made knife. This is a must stop shop omn your way to seaward. On the way from Anchorage to Soldatna and Kenai we always make sure to stop and see Walt and Connie at the knife shop. They are great people and always super interesting. They are always selling stuff but they also love to trade for there goods. I would trade some stuff walt needs for knives and souviners any day.
