I took the 4hr Wildlife cruise of Resurrection Bay at 6pm and opted not to have the meal. The park ranger was excellent! She was so enthusiastic and really got the kids involved. The weather was overcast when we left and the ride wasn't bad at the start. I took a Dramamine because I was nervous but neither of my parents... More

I did a one day tour with Major Marine Tours from Anchorage to Seward. The drive from Anchorage to Seward was very scenic and beautiful. The boat cruise on the Kenai Star ship was also scenic. Although the weather was cloudy and rainy, I was still able to see some of the glaciers, marine life and take some great pictures.... More

The ship was clean and neat and comfortable. The caption and crew were friendly and professional. We saw dolphins, whales, otters, puffins, eagles, mountain goats and lots of sea birds. If you drink alcohol, the iceberg margaritas are a must (the oldest ice you'll ever use) I wish they would do it with a non-alcoholic drink as well. The buffet... More

Loved this tour. Solid 6 hours out to the glacier wig multiple stops. Lucky to have caught two humpbacks breaching and several sea lion and seal sightings along the way. We loved the sounds of the glacier and the experience was better with narration by a forest service ranger. Brunch was delicious. Not for veggies in my opinion. Crew were... More

We saw whales, sea lions, puffins, glaciers, mountains, and tons of other things. The guide was excellent, and the boat pilot was amazing. The food is also good on The buffet. Be prepared for wind, and the chance for rain. Bring a camera with a good zoom to take pictures, and listen to the guide. If you bring kids, there... More

This is a tough case to review. First, the good: the crew was pleasant and the captain took his time to flush out the wildlife/whales etc. This part made the trip. Next, the bad: The boat is run down. No excuse for that, and it did not make for a pleasant experience. Now, the ugly: We mistakenly booked this company... More

This was my second whale watching adventure out of Seward. Major Marine has smaller boats and assigned seating which I liked but I enjoyed my other tour on Kenai tours better. We only saw two whales, did not hear the glacier calve, and the lunch was not very good. On the Kenai tour we saw an abundance of whales, both... More

Great company with friendly & knowledgeable staff. We take 3-4 glacier and wildlife tours every year with MMT.

We signed up for the 5 hour wildlife viewing cruise in the hopes of seeing some wildlife (unfortunately we didn't plan ahead enough to reserve a kayaking trip on Resurrection Bay.) Pluses: The staff is super friendly, the boat is clean and offers snacks and drinks for sale. They also offer free inoculate to use on board. They have a... More

Major Marine Tours runs several itineraries. We chose the shorter Resurrection Bay Tour. It basically stays in (or close to) Resurrection Bay rather than going further out into the Kenai Fijords. We saw a good amount of wildlife and the staff was helpful and knowledgeable. There is a nice buffet lunch provided. The National Park Service provides a ranger who... More
