My husband and I did both the snorkelling with manta rays and swimming with dolphins trips (book both, get a discount!) and enjoyed both of these immensely. The manta ray trip was reasonably busy, and went out on a cool and choppy night on the ocean. It took a while for a ray to appear, but when it did, the... More

We have been going out with Captain "" China Mike " to swim with the dolphins for years now. His crew is first rate, the boat very comfortable, and you will be well taken care of. What sets "Sunlight" apart from other similar excursions however is the utmost respect shown to the dolphins, the Hawaiian traditions, and the ocean itself.... More

Great experience! I would do it again for sure. Captain and crew were very helpful. Manta rays were beautiful! my only suggestion is to make the use of a noodle float mandatory for anyone whose legs are sinking.

The trip was wonderful. We traveled less than 5 miles from the harbor and were able to see multiple Manta rays during the snorkeling event. Our crew Colin, Josh, and Drew were informative and entertaining. We spent over 30 minutes suspended from a raft with LED lights that allowed the food for the rays, plankton, to gather. The Rays are... More

China is the name of the boat captain for Sunlight on Water. He's well experienced and loves what he does. He wants to make sure everyone has a great time and a safe time and you will. I've been out four times with China and his crew of Bree, Colin and Josh. They're excellent, knowledgeable hosts and make you feel... More

This was an amazing trip off the west coast of The Big Island. The guys from Sunlight-0n-Water were informative and put aside all my fears about going into the ocean at night. On the way out you seen a beautiful sunset; on the way back, the lights of Kona. Sunlight-On-Water was recommended to me by a local who said they... More

This was an amazing trip. It was recommended to us by a local who said it was the best on the island. Colin couldn't have been a better guide. They really took care of us -- and it was a once in a lifetime trip. Thanks for a great experience!

If you do one thing on the Big Island take a trip with Sunlight on Water. We have taken three trips with this wonderful company.Twice to swim with Dolphins and once with the Giant Manta Rays and simply can't recommend them highly enough. Each trip was unique but all were full of amazing wildlife experiences and friendly attentive help from... More

If you are on the big island, then you must try swimming with the mantas and dolphins. It was an experience that is everlasting. Swimming with the mantas is less active and really you just float and watch the mantas come up to you. The dolphins does require some swimming which if you are able, it's unbelievable to see the...
