We went on Paradise Helicopter's 2-1/2 hour Circle Island experience which departs from and returns to the Kona airport.. We were assigned seats by height and weight and were given a safety briefing. We flew south down the scenic coast, where we saw at least 6 humpback whales (including a mother and her calf), past coffee plantations and macadamia nut... More

This was my first flight in a helicopter, so I didn't quite know what to expect but this was awesome. I took the 45 minute flight from the Hilo airport which is close to the Kilauea Crater. We saw the flow of lava and the crater real up close. After that we swung by the rainbow waterfalls and others on... More

We booked the 11-hour trip for $700/person. The flights were excellent and our pilot was a perfect host--informative and enthusiastic. The views are spectacular. The land portion was poor. We waited for more than an hour in Hilo to be picked up. The drive to the Kilauea volcano is another 45 minutes or so each way. The guide was knowledgeable... More

Aloha and thank you for your review. Honest feedback from our guests helps us to improve our tours, and we are always grateful for that opportunity. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed your flight - our crew does a lot of training to learn about the island and become expert guides as well as pilots. As for the land... More

I went on the volcano tour last week with my fiance and her family (20-50 year olds), and we had an amazing time. The staff was very friendly, and it was a great tour. While the tour starts a bit slow with scenary, it gets incredible as you get to the east coast where it is rainy and lushious. We... More

Paradise Helicopters is AMAZING! They have extremely comfortable helicopters with great seating arrangements as well as Pilots that I am convinced give you the best sightings of our sacred island. We are very thankful to have the opportunities to work directly with them here at the Kona Reef Resort. We consistently get really good feed back from our guest and... More

The views from the Helicopter are unbelievable - it is the only way to see many of the views. Seeing the lava from above is very cool. We also saw whales from above and very cool waterfalls. However, the guide didn't talk much and the two hour tour was probably a bit too long as several people feeling sick with... More

If you don't have a lot of time to explore the island, then a helicopter tour is the best way to see most of the island. Our concierge recommended Paradise Helicopter, and they exceeded our expectations. Dan was our pilot, and was incredibly knowledgable, thoughtful, and confidence inspiring. My wife gets motion sickness easily, and threw up on a helicopter... More

Excellent helicopter tour of the Big Island! Dan, our pilot, was very professional and very knowledgeable/informative of everything we were seeing on the island as we flew over and around the island. Just a few highlights of the trip, he showed us some live lava flows, a crashed WWII B-18 bomber, unbelievable views of an over 2000 Ft. waterfall, and... More

Aloha Nikki and Randy, It was a pleasure flying for you and showing you the pure beauty the Big Island has to offer. You are most certainly correct that seeing the island by air really is the most amazing way to capture every facet the island has to offer. From the Paradise Ohana, mahalo once again and we can't wait... More

You have not seen any of the islands untill you fly over them. Watch steaming lava roll into the sea. The magnitude of devaststion trail after lava burned out a whole comunity. The lone, still ocupied, house that stands on the lava field even to this day. Lush forests and hidded waterfalls. Awsome

Our tour with Paradise Helicopters was fabulous. We saw many waterfalls which were magnificent. Seeing whales from a helicopter (an unexpected treat) allowed us to see their whole body and their "footprint" left behind in the water as they dove under. The volcanoes were the motivation for our tour as we hoped to see an active lava flow which can... More
