There are a lot of choices for helicopter tours on Hawaii. We chose to go with Paradise Helicopters because of the great reviews we read, and its location close to Kona. We received a thorough briefing before the flight, including an explanation of our route on a topo map. After getting us seated in the helicopter, with very comfortable seats,... More

If you are short on time that's probably one of the cost effective ways to experience what Big Island has to offer. We took the Volcano Kohala Landing tour and were lucky enough to get above the volcano and have great sight of Kohala before weather moved in. Our pilot was very courteous and professional, ex Air Force who used... More

This is a great way to see The Big Island - you'll see the Big Island in a way you can't in any other tour. It was beautiful! I was hesitant to do this at first because I was scared of how the heli movements will make me feel but I was fine! I read somewhere before that it felt... More

A helicopter trip is expensive but worth it when the lava is flowing on the surface. We decided to go at the last minute and got seats on the Sunset Experience that afternoon. Unfortunately this is a "doors on" trip - but since it was rainy in places maybe that's a good thing. The pilot made a real effort to... More

It was great, in any way you can think about, and it worth the price! We ended up canceling and rescheduling three times due to weather, finally we had an open door volcano tour for just my wife and I! The staff were extremely helpful and the flight was awesome. However, the helicopter itself was not new or clean, I... More

Aloha Ardibid, Thank you so much for the great feedback! I am so glad you had a great time. For first time flyers or non aviators, the distance between helicopters can appear a lot closer than they actually are. Our pilots, and all of the other tour pilots, are tuned into a "common frequency" that all of the tour companies... More

SPEECHLESS. We saw the island by sea, by land, by sky by far the best. With every dime. We saw lava moving, waterfalls, crashed WWII plane. Shear cliffs beautiful beaches. Lush forest,

we went on the 2hour tour and booked a picnic stop by the waterfall for an hour. I have a few issues with the tour: 1. The tour right before us also had a stop booked but because it was raining they weren't able to stay long and went back to the helicopter early.. yet, NO ONE (not the guy... More

Aloha Tarams, Mahalo for taking the time to write a review. We're sorry to hear you were disappointed regarding your landing tour. In Hawaii, the weather can change very quickly and even if the morning landing doesn't touch down, that doesn't necessarily mean that the next one will not either. We do our best to give every flight the opportunity... More

Had Ana amazing time. Went on the 45min open door tour. Our pilot York was awesome! I would do this again and again! Open door is the best way to tour the island, I felt the heat off the lava which was incredible!

Due to the weather we had to alter our plans. The volcano area was not cooperating due to poor weather so we had a choice, cancel, reschedule or take a smaller flight and view the waterfalls. Unfortunately my seat in my opinion was the worst on the helicopter, port side facing back. It was very hard to see anything on... More
