The Fairwinds am tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Kona, After a nice contential breakfast and a short trip to the cove, we experienced some of the best snorkeling on the island. The staff was wonderful, even after we found out our daughter gets sea sick, and took care of her and us with professionalism and... more

Fair Wind has the brightest lights, and the manta rays come directly to you. They hang the lights off this styrofoam / PVC platform, and you hang onto the platform as the manta rays swim up to the lights to eat the phytoplankton. Other boats have dim lights or lights off the boats so it isn't as much an up-and-close... more

We had signed up for the Fairwinds II tour, but arrived a little late. We were upgraded to the Hula Kai trip, lucky for us! The boat is fast and a smooth ride. It was a small group (probably only 20 people- the boat fits about 40 people). The crew was very nice also. Both snorkeling sites were great, not... more

This is a MUST. Anyone can do it. And Fairwinds is the best outfit to go on, because they seemed to be the most professional and had the strongest lights to attract the mantas. Other boats were near us pushing to try and get near our spot, and the Fairwinds crew had staff in the water to politely but firmly... more

We started with a snorkel trip and liked it so much we went back for the night snorkel with the Manta Rays. The day snorkel trip was great. We took the trip on the Hula Kai, a little more money, but they make some more stops, and take you to some different places. The boat doesn't have as many people... more

This was one of the highlights our our trip. It was my 11 year old's favorite thing we did on vacation. We left Keahou Bay and cruised down to snorkeling bay. We were told to stay away from the shore, not go on the monument, and not stand or touch the corral in anyway. There was also a marine biologist... more

We took the morning snorkel outing to Kealakekua Bay. The boat was full but it didn't feel crowded. The crew was great; very helpful with an emphasis on safety. We saw lots of beautiful fish and had ample time to explore as well as enjoy the tasty barbecue lunch (cooked at the stern of the boat). This was a highpoint... more

My wife and I enjoyed this snorkeling cruise a lot. I have gone on other cruises but this is the first time that the crew delivered my gear to me as I was sitting enjoying the light breakfast. We had a full boat full but it was still a great trip. The lunch was good. I was a little disappointed... more

Normally you wouldn't consider a snorkel trip to be luxurious but the day trip on the Hula Kai was pretty close to it. The boat is great and very new, the crew is incredibly professional and the food was just plain amazing considering where it was cooked. The snorkeling itself is really great, we saw several turtles and dolphins and... more

This is a great outfit to sign up with. I have been on their catamaran with the sail numerous times. This last time I brought my children 18-16 on the trip. I knew it was a first class operation, so I did not have a problem with the price. There are other companies out there like Body Glove, that is... more
