The luau was fantastic! We had to wait in line for a short while but were expecting that so didn't mind. We were told to get there abit early to get a good seat so we got there at 4:30 which got us that. Sat right at the front, better than most of the reserved seats! Was a bit wary... More

Handy, economical, good show, great food, easy parking, great view, the same place that the Pleasant Hawaiian welcome breakfast and info resort was at.

We had a group of 5 and this had everything we thought it would. Music, hula dancers, fire dancer, group picture, buffet of food. If you are looking for a luau, this was a good one!

This is one of the best luau on the Big Island. The Royal Kona is in a perfect location and is a gorgeous hotel right downtown Kailua Kona. Unimited bar for 2 hours and more food and dessert than you can eat. They told a memorable story and the Somoan fire dancer was amazing. He just get going and going...That... More

Our evening at the Luau was a real hit with the family, the food was delicious and the entertainment was first class! The fire dancer was amazing! One of our nieces was brought on stage toward the end of the show to dance with the professional dancers and that really made a memorable experience. We enjoyed it very much!

My wife and son and I went to the Royal Kona Resort Luau while we were vacationing on the Big Island this last June. I had received some feedback via the Trip Adviser forums that this luau is not good. However, I'm the kind of person that sometimes I just need to try it for myself. Other peoples opinions are... We had to pay to park then wait in line for a half hour. The line for people who hadn't paid was shorter. Otherwise it was great!!

Interesting traditional dances. Got to see the unearthing of the pig roasted in the traditional pit oven. Musicians played good jazzy music along with more traditional songs for the dancers.

We're staying at the Sheraton and attended the luau here; but, I have to be honest, I actually liked the one at the Royal Kona Resort better. The show moves a little faster and the sunset is to die for. The Royal Kona overlooks the water while the Sheraton's is in the convention place lawn. I liked everything about the... More
