The joy is when you actually see a boat come in with a big fish -- it doesn't always happen. Even when you "miss," it's still a pleasant place to be. There are two good restaurants and the atmosphere is great.

Great restaurant there, fun to watch the boats. Near to where alot of the ocean tours go out of.

Honokohau is a well-kept secret probably because most people view it as a marina and not a beach. But the snorkeling here is fantastic. Not the variety of tropical fishes you'd see just south at Kahalu'u, or even at Hanauma Bay on Oahu. But definitely crystal clear and uncrowded.
