After taking the turn off the Hwy for the harbour, bear right and go to the end of the road. A short walk to a lovely quite beach with lots of turtles, some on the beach. Not a swimming beach although some little kids were playing in the rock pools.

It's a nice little, unpretentious harbor. We happen to luck out and see the dressing of a 242# blue marlin.

Bathrooms were clean. Access was easy. Beach next to marina was very special-a sacred place. Crew and cap't very helpful. Went out on Sunlight on Water four times.

You must visit this restaurant as it is one of a kind. It does not appear very salubrious but the food is fast and furious and covers most tastes, especially the fish and chips and the burgers and the price is right. The cold beer is a must and is heavy to handle and I liked the Pacifico and Dos... More

When you go to the harbor of Honokohau, bear right at the fork in the road. Then park and walk to this secluded wonderful beach. Turtles galore. Plenty of trees for shade, and a few different areas to wade in. It does have stones you must walk on in the water.

Interesting surroundings, good seafood, slightly more in cost than expected. The store in the same complex had some good buys and was worth it to stop and shop.

Many boats to choose from. Personal favorites are Neptune Charlies, Big Island Divers and Kona Diving Company. Make sure to book with a Green Listed company. Solid shore diving (walk over lava rocks so definitely use boots/shoes) at the South end, and easy walking access to the Kaloko Honolohau National Park from the North end. Decent food and beer selection... More

Bite Me Charters will get you out and into the fish. After helping you catch them, they also have a nice, harbor side restaurant where they will cook your fish to order for your to ea it. Go for the full day charter, if you have the time. You will see whales and all of the other 'stuff' and have... More

Take the first right turn on the marina road and look for the Sea Store near the gas pumps on the left. It's a fantastic spot to grab lunch for your boating or beach excursion. They make sandwiches to order or have pre-made sandwiches for $6.25. A good selection of snacks and drinks/beers. They also sell fish which is a... More

A picturesque, compact Marina carved out of the lava. Sports fishing and commercially oriented. Fun to walk around and check out the boats with two restraurants and a couple of mini-stores. Great ocean and sunset views.
