Since the day the Big Island Country Club opened to rave reviews in 1997, it has been on the "must play" list of the golfing visitor to Hawaii's Big Island. That's not only because of its spectacular location and scenic beauty, but equally because of its well-deserved reputation as a course that welcomes both the novice player as well as the low-handicap expert. The course is simultaneously enjoyable yet challenging, and is designed for every level of playing ability. Designed by famed golf course architect Perry Dye, son of Pete Dye, the par 72 course has all the popular attributes and interesting features that make his layouts so popular to golfers of varying skills: wide, gently rolling bermuda grass fairways, medium-size undulating Bent grass greens, and an abundance of water.

Beautiful course with plenty of shade.

We golfed here a few days ago. A bit of advice about prices: online shows $66 per person after 2 p.m. for 18 holes. To get that price you have to book it online. The club... read more

My husband and I played at the end of the day and only 9 holes. It was wonderful! At the end of the day, it wasn't very busy and we pretty much had the place to ourselves! Each hole had something different a beautiful about it. There is also a variety of wildlife that roam around the course, not just... More

We golfed here a few days ago. A bit of advice about prices: online shows $66 per person after 2 p.m. for 18 holes. To get that price you have to book it online. The club house will charge you $79. They told us after 3 it's $66 for 9 holes. Also check the local tour guides as some have... More

We last played this course about 8-10 years ago and swore to never come back. After reading some reviews I decided to give the course another go and we're glad we did. The layout of this course has always been one of the best on the island. It was the maintenance and customer service that was bad in the past.... More

The views are everything from the ocean to to top of every mountain on the island. The course is in great shape, and is fair and challenging. The people were great. I would highly recommend Big Island CC

I have been to the island 4-5 times and always enjoy the golf at Big Island CC. It is a good layout with consistently good conditions with a much lower cost then the beach area courses. It has great views and a lot of wildlife as well, enjoy.

Great drive up to the course in the high country which offered cooler twpms perfect for golfing. The course was in fairly decent shape. Lots of wildlife on the course and the views are awesome. Lot of risk reward holes and the 17th and 18th are amazing with the island green on 17. You can tell they spend a lot... More

My son and I played on a Sunday morning, we were greeted by the ladies in the pro shop. We were about an hour early so the starter (also very friendly) got us off about 45 minutes early. The course was in pretty good shape and the pace of play was fantastic. Overall my son and I really enjoyed our... More

I was looking to play a quick round on the big island but wasn't interested in dropping $250-$350 on my round with rental clubs. I was told about Big Island CC. It was a pleasant surprise. The green fees were $65.00 plus $45.00 rental clubs. The course was fun and was in pretty good shape especially for the price. I... More

I have been to the Big Island and have played a fair number of the golf courses. I visited 9/20-27, 2015 this year (the week was a little humid but perfect weather when I golfed) and played Hapuna, Mauna Lani, Makalei and Big Island golf courses, and I gotta say, for the money, I really like Big Island County Club...
