The scenery was beautiful and Taj took us to an off-the-beaten-path lava tube and the Devil's Throat. However, we could have done with a lot less running commentary on every single tree, leaf, and bird. I retained nearly nothing. I would have preferred more stories about the culture and mythology of the original Hawaiians. In hindsight, I should have researched... More

Can't thank these guys enough for an awesome experience. You have to see Mauna Kea with a professional guide because you get to enjoy it way more than having to worry about destroying your rental car!

We took a waterfalls hike in late August. It was about half a day and a great way to see one of Hawaii's most beautiful places. It is perfect for the less athletic and adventurous and great for children under 12. But my 13-year-old found it pretty dull, except for the Pinzer ride. I thought it pricey, but hey, we... More

Our tour guide Taj was superb! He was very knowledge about the plants, birds, volcanos, Hawaiian legends and language! He was also funny and friendly! We definitely learn and seen a lot in one day. He also shared a lot of his personal stories, pictures with us of his own encounters with the volcano. How we wish we were there... More

I went on the Mauna Kea Summit and Stars tour earlier this month and it was outstanding. I learned a great deal about Hawaiian history, geology and astronomy. The guide, Nate, was wonderful--very knowledgeable and funny. I was on the tour solo and he made me feel welcome, introducing me to everyone on the van. The sunset from the summit... More

Loved everything about the day. Our guide Taj was very knowledgeable; lots of information and knew the best places to stop and see everything. We got so much more out of the visit than if we had tried to do it on our own The lava tube in the dark was great fun and Taj even arranged a perfect rainbow... More

These guys are first class. Last year, we did the waterfall tour. This year, we went back to them for the volcano adventure (hiking and touring in Volcano National Park). The guide we had this year was just as outstanding and knowledgeable as the one we had last year. And the trip to Volcano National Park was just as exciting... More

My family just returned from a two week vacation in Hawaii and decided to spend the last few days in Kona. We booked the Twilight Volcano Tour and could not be more pleased! Our guide's name was Matt and he also happened to have a science degree in soil management. He kept the up an energized pace while making the... More

This was a great family day. Jonny was our driver, and he was sensitive, expert, safe and entertaining. We were a family of 5 and not easy :) Volcanoes ARE Hawaii and Jonny's skill was to use a tour of the Volcano National Park as a window onto all of hawaiian history and culture, as well as some excellent geology.... The Mauna Kea Summit experience was the last excursion we were able to go on before Hurricane Iselle visited the Big Island. We were picked up by Brett, our tour guide with Hawaii Forest & Trail, at our hotel, in a comfortable, plainly equipped 16 passenger tour bus. The bus made two additional stops before we began the drive up... More
