Went on this tour on April 5 with Maka as our guide and it was great, even though the cloudy weather kept us from the stargazing part of it. It's a long day because they take the time to get people acclimated to the change in altitude by making a few stops along the way, including a stop for dinner... More

My husband and I did this tour in mid April to the top of Mauna Kea with Greg. It was an excellent tour and extremely informative! I would highly recommend this company for the Mauna Kea tour! Just make sure to dress warm and bring warm mitts with you as the ones provided are not the best. Enjoy your tour!

I have never done a guided or a van tour before but Justin, an amazing guide, made it very worthwhile! His absolute and obvious passion for sharing his knowledge with us was infectious. I love the mix of science and the Hawaiian lore, bringing our surroundings together in an entirely unique way. The twilight tour is a great way to... More

We had the awesome pleasure of meeting the best guide we have ever had, Matt or often referred to as Mateo, on the Volcano Tour. The tour is awesome and well worth the money however Matt's unique ability to tell local folklore and legends are absolutely the best around. Matt took the time to visit with each and every one... Impressive and very happy with the tour. Pace was good, tour guide Greg was very knowledgeable. We stay at Marriott Waikoloa, we got picked up second last at around 315pm, got to the sheep station for supper in an hour. Greg explained everything very well, good sense of humor and I like how he didn't over-talk. You know how some... More

We have gone with both Hawaii Forest and Trail and Mauna Kea Summit Adventures in the past. Although they both do a good job, we find the drivers/guides with Hawaii Forest and Trails to be more knowledgeable about astrology and the diverse terrain of the Big Island. On March 31, 2014 we went with Hawaii Forest and Trails for our... More

We went on the Hawaii Forest and Trail Twilight Volcano Tour led by Justin on Sunday and had the best time. Justin was such a thoughtful, knowledgable and welcoming tour guide. He made everyone on our tour feel very much part of the group while still being very relaxed. The tour included so much great local history, Hawaiian folklore and... More

Hawaii is expensive and if you are like me after you've paid the airfare and paid for your rooms you are really wanting to make sure that anything else you buy is going to be a great experience. Well, the Waterfall Hike was a great experience and more! Matt our guide was full of information about the local area, the... More

My wife and I had a couple specific things we wanted to be sure we saw properly during our time on the Big Island. We took part in the Birding Tour, The Twilight Volcano Tour, and the Summit and Stars tour. Each was excellent. Gary led the birding tour, and helped us to see 9 of the 10 rare birds... More
