We took a morning snorkel cruise on the Hula Kai in February 2012. The captain, Kurt, introduced himself to each passenger and did an admirable job of remembering our names. He was outgoing and pleasant and made all of us welcome. While we waited to board, coffee and tea were served. Due to high surf the day of our trip,... More

We have taken a number of Hula Kai tours over the last few years and are never disappointed. The benefits of the Hula Kai are that it is a smaller, faster boat and so is less crowded and travels further down the coast and further out from the coast. On all of our trips not only have we snorkelled at... More

Fun atmosphere, good food, comfortable boat, and beautiful snorkeling. We are going again day after tomorrow. More

This is advertised as one of the ten things you must do during your life time. I AGREE!!! Unbelievable is all I can say about his. I arrived at the Keauhou Bay dock which was easy to find. Check in went smoothly then we get fitted for wet suits. That was kind of comical. All made it through as they... More

We went on the Hula Kai morning snorkeling trip mid-July 2011 and absolutely loved it. When we arrived and saw the long line for Fair Wind (with TONS of kids), we were glad to be going on the much smaller (and more adult-oriented) Hula Kai trip instead. We stopped at 2 locations with great snorkeling, the second of which had... More

We went on this on the recommendation of the owner of the B&B we stayed at. The boat and gear is impecabley clean and very well organized. The staff is very helpful and fun. The staff did whatever they could to show us as much wildlife they could find. On our trip we saw manta rays, sea turtles and bottle... More

I was really freaked out about doing this snorkel at night, but decided it would be a once in a lifetime thing -- and it totally was. You receive a wet suit which keeps you warm. Once out in the water, you hold onto a flotation device with lights. There's no real snorkeling around, you just hold on and watch... More

This was a fantastic snorkeling excursion. We went on the Hula Kai as part of the Fairwind tour. There were about two dozen passengers on the boat, which had room for forty. My wife and I had little to no snorkeling experience and were both concerned about sharks. Our captain, Captain Kurt, provided us with excellent instructions on how to... More

Well worth the money! They also have the Fairwinds but for the extra money I definately would go with Hula Kai's boat. It was their first trip out since the Tsumni and it was great. Unfortunately we weren't able to go to the second site, though we went to see if we could, due to the high surf but Kurt... More

Okay, I don't want to slam this company/tour but I wouldn't recommend them either. Just me. I guess for the amount of money, I expected more. We've been on snorkle trips in Mexico where the crew worked harder, the drinks were FREE and plentiful, and it was A LOT cheaper. We spent a lot of time driving to where we... More
