Having made many trips to the islands this is the number one trip not to be missed. This is the most comfortable boat and since it is smaller you also get more attention. The crew is extremely professional, well informed and helpful. It is now the only charter boat I will go on in Kona.

This was our second trip to the Big Island. Last time we did 6 dives in 3 days and were worn out so this time we decided to just snorkel. We also had my mom with us who is 70, so we wanted to do something she could do too. We made the reservation the day before and I had... More

Great crew with Captain Kirk and Dive Master Scott--yes, just like Star Trek--were very friendly and took good care of everyone. Beautiful boat and very well appointed. Food was delicious and plentiful. Equipment for snorkelers with prescription lenses was easily supplied--above my expectations.

Number 1 experience of a lifetime! Don't visit the Big Island without snorkeling with the Manta Rays at night. Don't worry! You swim out to a flotation device and hang on. Very secure and close to land. Many lights and you can see all around you. These creatures are docile and beautiful and come so close you could touch...but don't.... More

First let me start by saying I didn't really want to go. Night snorkeling just sounds a little creepy to me. I like the illusion that I can see what is out there. Plus I've seen some skates before snorkeling so it didn't sound super exciting. However, the guys really wanted to go so go we did. We went out... More

The Manta cruise was unreal! When I first got in the water, I saw a manta right away, but then we didn't see any for maybe fifteen minutes and I was thinking that it would just be the one manta ray. But sure enough, soon a manta swam by below, followed by another, and they got closer and closer to... More

We stayed next door at the Sheraton and this snorkeling trip could not have been more convenient. The Hula Kai is a beautiful vessel - she is actually raises up on a hydro foil while cruising which makes for smooth motoring along the southwestern coast of Hawaii. The captain and crew were excellent hosts and provided unique insights into the... More

Don't miss this when in Kona. I have lived here for 13 years and have been told of this adventure and still did not go until last week. Any trip with Fair Wind is always the highlight of the year for us. Try the morning snorkel, what a blast!!

What an amazing experience! The crew took us right to the best spot. The manta rays swam so close we could have touched them. Of course, the crew educated us that doing so would harm the fish so we did not actually touch them. I could not be more pleased with Hula Kai.
