Max 35 people on this huge boat. Lots of room to move around. Its not one of these 125 person snorkleling trips. Staff of at least 6. On our day, August 15th, there were only 24 people and we were 6 of them! Breakfast (croissants, eggs, fruit, yogurt). Lunch was BBQ burgers, chicken, salad, chips, and cookies. Soda and water.... Hula Kai isn't the typical "let's go to Kealakekua Bay and spend the day" trip. Instead, the boat takes you to places only accessible by boat. Much of our Kona Coast can'tbe seen any other way, so take this trip. If you want to snorkel at Captain Cook, dirve to two step Beach and do it. But if you want... More

Traveled from the Pride of America cruise ship via taxi to the departure location, which was about a 20 minute drive. Check-in was easy and coffee was provided in the comfortable waiting area. Captain Kirk was knowledgeable and personable; he took the time to speak to every person individually and truly make the experience memorable. The day was a bit... More

Our day on the Hula Kai was amazing! The first snorkeling spot was a typical location, but the second was the best snorkeling I have experienced in my 15 years of vacationing in Kona. The food was better than expected and the crew were professional and experienced. It was worth every penny!

One of our main reasons for visiting the Big Island was to do the night Manta Ray Snorkel – it was everything we thought it would be and more! After researching on trip advisor, we selected the Fair Wind Cruises Hula Kai Tour. We have a family of four while my son and I did the snorkel, my wife and... More

The crew was so friendly, helpful getting our gear sorted (including lens-corrected goggles so I didn't need glasses!) finding the best spot for that day's conditions with absolutely incredible sea life. My kids felt very safe. Well staffed to give individual attention to all.. Fast boat got us to 2 locations including a cove to ourselves and we had 2... More

I have gone on the Hula Kai for their morning snorkel trip on five trips here. It is a first class experience. Excellent, congenial staff, polished service, great food and smooth sailing. The sea rockets are a blast...worth the extra fee. There is little promoting of these so don't be afraid to ask. I agree with the earlier review citing... More

The crew was fun and helpful. The trip was great and the boat was well maintained. They served us a nice lunch and I would do this again!

My husband and I did the morning snorkel trip, and it was my favorite experience ever on the Big Island! Initially we were disappointed that we could not get on the Fair Winds II; we had waited too long to book it. We decided to go with the Hula Kai instead since it had good reviews in the Big Island...
