Took the FIve Island Tour with our pilot, Anthony, in November 2011. This was a fantastic experience. We had one "wannabe" pilot in our party that got to sit up front as co-pilot and got his technical quesitons answered. The plane ride was incredibly smooth, even better than being in a commercial plane. Our pilot was both very knowledgable about... More

This a was a very good value. The plane was a large 8 passenger high wing plane so the views were great. The pilot was a delight. He was a younger man but very professional and knowledgeable of the island, We had a smooth ride with some great viewing of the island especially the lava flows at the active volcano... More

We had four days on the Big Island, and wanted to see it by air. Helicopter tours were too expensive and there is no guarantee of a window seat, so we decided to take the fixed wing plane, 2 hour trip with Big Island Air. It was much better value, and everyone gets a window seat. We saw cliffs, waterfalls,... More

I usually do air tours of the Islands in a helicopter tour. Because you think you get a better view. Since your closer to the ground level. I got introduced to Big Air through our vacation resort meeting. The price is right for one. You get to view the whole island. And the Best thing is your not looking over... More

We took the 5-island long air tour. It was pretty good, although the conditions were less than optimal because of a weather system over the islands. We thought we were going to go over the Big Island, Maui, Molokai, Ko'oalawi, and Lanai, but only saw the last two from a distance. The wind from the north was very strong, though,... More

Don't be fooled by the photos on their website -- hype hype hype. We visited Kona Hawaii during the recent volcanic eruption and were advised to use Big Island Air to capture this rare opportunity. When we contacted these folks, they told us to get booked and do it fast before the volcano stopped -- what they didn't tell us... More

I have mixed feelings about my experience on Big Island Air. I took the sunset tour in July and, overall, it was a good experience. The highlights were excellent: we circled the lava flow many times and got an excellent look at the expanse of molten lava working its way towards the ocean. We also flew directly over the Kilauea... **Note: I had written a lengthier review, but somehow, it got "lost" somewhere along 'Preview' and 'Submit.' Anyway, here goes try #2: My family and I had booked a sunset tour over the volcanoes with Big Island Air. Greg was our pilot. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. From when we arrived at the airport to when we left after our tour... More
