I spent quite some time looking for a good dive company in Kona and was thrilled to stumble upon Steve and wana Dive. They are a really cute operation. I wanted a small operation as i was bring a few disco (first time) divers with me and wanted to make sure they got ample attention. Steve and group were great.... More

My husband my 10year old Daughter and I absolutely loved our Manta Night Dive with Steve and Mike! This was our first family trip to Hawaii(My husband myself and our 3 daughters) We were scheduled to meet at 4:30 to do a 2 tank night dive (one pre manta and the other the manta dive) when we had to take... We chose Wanna Dive the same as most people, small group, not a cattle boat. Steve takes only 6 and the boat is roomy enough for the divers. They are attentive to the divers needs, helping with the gear, and setting it up between dives. The dive briefing was the longest we have ever had. Out comes the fish book... More

My wife and I recently made a trip to the Big Island, and we wanted to make sure we did the manta night dive along with a couple of two tank day dives. Several Kona dive shops are well reviewed, but we chose Wanna Dive because we liked the idea of a small boat and lots of personal attention. Turns... More

We actually dove with them in early March, 2010, and thought I had written a review at that time. Oops. We had generally gone with another dive op when on the Big Island, but decided to go with Wanna Dive based on a recommendation from our local dive shop. So glad we did! There were four of us, eager to... More

We just got back to the mainland after taking our Advanced Open Water with Steve and his crew. While I felt the course was just a money grab from PADI, Wanna Dive did a good job in picking dive sites that made finishing the requisit dives fun. The DM ensured we saw sharks, octopus, eels and many beutiful mantas. With... More

I dove with Wanna Dive in August of 2011. I can't say enough good things about this operation. I had not dove in a few years and am relatively inexperienced. I called a few months in advance and talked to Steve about my concerns. We ended up setting up two dives with a private guide to make sure I was... More

I had the good fortune of diving with Wanna Dive in Kona this August. This company is a little smaller than most of the Kona Dive outfits but you don't miss a thing. Captain Steve provides a comfortable and well equipped boat. The boat is a 6 pack so you never have people falling over each other. There is plenty... More

My family took me to Hawaii for my 40th birthday, and diving was the "one thing" I had to do while there. I've been diving for over 20 years, and have been into underwater photo / video for the last 10 years or so. One thing I've learned is that smaller groups tend to be better for this type of... More

I have been to Kona several times, more so since scuba diving became a part of the vacation program. The first few times I selected the places that advertise in all the brochures and guide books and found large, cattlecar boats with so-so divemasters. Recently, based on a friends suggestion, Wanna Dive popped to the top. Wow, what a difference.... More
