We went in the morning to beat the crowds. I really like this beach because of fewer rocks, more sand, and calmer surf. The waves are still big but younger kids have more room to play on the shore. We were able to snorkel along the rocky sides and were visited by 3-4 sea turtles. It got busier and boogie... More

This is right across from our vacation rental and a regular hangout for us all. The waves are huge! Not the best swimming beach but great for body surfing. Beautiful whale watching spot and plenty of tree shade for a picnic.

We managed to locate this small beach but it was packed with scenery and we we're able to take several photos of the sunset along with rocks and water coming right up on the rocks. Very beautiful if you like to take photos.

We stayed at Kona Magic Sands Condo right next to the beach. There was no sand at the water line. Only rocks. You could see the sand just past the breakers. I was told the sand moves out in the winter and magically returns in the summer months

this beach is rocky and dirty. the fishermen chum the water, making this a popular beach for sharks to frequent.

In January and February, the beach is very rocky. However, there is still sand and room to sunbathe. For the rest of the year, the tides change, and the entire beach is covered with sand. At these times, the beach is much friendlier for swimmers. Also, there is a volleyball net set up for all to use, so bring a... More

This is a very beautiful beach with beautiful blue water and white sand. This beach is for boogie boarding...not really for little kids because it is pretty rough but fun for teens. There are some palms for shade, but gets quite full pretty quickly. We went twice for the teens to play and boogie boards and the rest of us... More
