Iolani Air provides a safe, smooth, geographic showcase with personal window seats for better viewing. Nice to know this "once-in-a-lifetime" experience doesn't have to take a life time to pay for either. That's right. Overfly untouched Hawaii without overspending. Since we are located at two Big Island Airports, Kona and Hilo, great choices include the Hilo Lava Plane-our one hour, great priced Volcano & Waterfall flight and the Kona Lava Plane-our version of the 2.5 hour Circle Island Tour as well as the popular, exclusive Kona Deluxe Tour for Two. What's in a name? Iolani is ancient Hawaiian for "Exalted Hawk". It is actually two Hawaiian words joined together. Io (pronounced "ee-oh") is the native Hawaiian Hawk. Lani means heaven. To see the Iolani flying overhead means good fortune. « less

Would highly recommend this company. Chris went out of his way to arrange a flight for us and we couldn't have been happier. You get a whole new perspective of the island and I would strongly recommend going the extra to see the amazing coastline on the east side and not just the volcanoes. Weather and visibility were great and... More

Wonderful trip, the pilot was awesome and very informative. You will never see Hawaii the way you should by just driving or hiking around. You will see more things in an hour than spending a whole week there. Worth it

We have taken a number of helicopter tours on various islands including on the Big Island so we decided to try a single engine airplane tour entitled Hilo Volcano and Waterfall Tour. It was more reasonably priced and definitely worth the money. We booked in advance with Tom's Barefoot Tours (tombarefoot.com). I would recommend booking in advance of your arrival... More

Flew with captain Dale yesterday great day for flying! Dramatic views, comfortable flight had birds eye view of hundreds of falls, gorges and valleys up the coast toward Hawi /Waipio Valley. We had a great flight and highly reccomend Iolani Air Tour friendly and professional.

Our family of four did a volcano tour with pilot Dale out of Hilo and we loved every moment. Dale was very professional and obviously very experienced. The sights were magnificent. We would not hesitate to recommend Iolani Air and pilot Dale!

One of the best tours of my life. Amazing staff, amazing service and the pilot Tim was very knowledgable and funny. We were going to consider a helicopter tour but this was way better value for our money. Best part was that it was a private tour meaning we could do and see anything we wanted. We spotted our resort... More

We took the Kona Deluxe Tour for Two. I was concerned bec my partner had a cam walker/boot (she broke her leg a month before our trip) and we are big people. Helicopter tours charge more for that 'extra baggage.' When I called Iolani, Chris suggested we meet him at the plane to make sure there was enough room and... More

As a first time visitor to the Big Island....this is the best way to understand and capture the size and diversity of the this Island. The service was outstanding....from the safety brief to keeping the turbulence to a minimum...(that on-shore breeze gotta go somewhere....) I would recommend doing the circle island tour....It gives you perspective and focus on the time... More

We had planned our 12 day "Holiday Vacation" in Hawaii many months in advance of our 12/16/2013 departure from Northern NJ. Part of our experience was to be the "Iolani Air Tour Company" "Deluxe Tour for Two". That would just be myself, my wife and the pilot in a small airplane. It would be about a 2 1/2 hour air... More

Dale, our very safe pilot, gave an exemplary tour of the island to wife and I and it was a memorable occasion to see the Big Island from 1 - 3.5 thousand feet at a leisurely paced.....included the Kohala coast, Waipio Valley, Hilo, Kilauea, Black and Green Sand beaches, Cook Monument and Kona. Would recommend to anyone and considering fuel... More
