This is a small visitors center for those in the vicinity of Joshua Tree National Park. It has the usual national park type of gifts and treasures including maps and a friendly staff of volunteers and rangers.

The rangers in the Visitor Center are very friendly and welcoming. The displays and information are rich and well documented. We bought our annual park pass there. It turned out a real bargain since we visited most National Parks around the Grand Canyon area on our round trip.

Got quick and pertinent information here that equipped us well for entering the dessert! They even sell bottles of water - but we got outs miles beforehand at a cheaper place.

The Joshua Tree Visitor Center is under construction, so currently they are using a trailer to house this facility. I''m sure when its complete it will be outstanding. Right now its pretty basic, with maps, books, T shirts and hats. Head to one of the other two centers to see the movie and a more extensive gift shop.

Have been in 29 Palms before and wondered what to do this time before going to Joshua Tree National Park-- SO-- stopped by the Visitors Center on the main street. This place is FANTASTIC. Instead of the usual "ask if you have any questions" a very nice young lady said welcome and got out of her chair and came over... More
