Cinema shows the mountain through the seasons in about 10 mins, a tunnel runs for 360M under the mountain with exhibits (construction/geology/permafrost etc.) be aware at this height you may find walking back up the tunnel... First, it's easy to go up and down. The tickets are fairly expensive - €34 for an adult. We were they're in August during a terrible snow storm. Pretty coo, for the kids. But, there is no view at all in bad weather. Check the forecast if you want to see the views. If you do go in bad weather... More

Booked a day tour to Mt Kitzsteinhorn from Salzburg and was lucky enough to get Bryan as a guide to ourselves for the day. Incredibly helpful, nothing was too much trouble. From providing umbrellas when it rained unexpectedly, to stopping to ensure we could taste the elder flowers, and organising for us to get a lakeside view of Zell Am... More

Plenty of parking is available and is free of charge. Using three different lift systems you can reach the top (ca. 3000m). It cost around 30 Euros/Adult, 25 Euros/ bigger kids and the smaller ones didn't pay anything. At the top the views were amazing. Absolutely worth goign up there! With the shuttle you could get a hundrer meters down... More

Kitzsteinhorn base point is about 15 minutes by car from Kaprun. Plenty of parking is available and is free of charge. Using three different lift systems you can reach the top. At first station you can have a really nice walk around. At second station there was still plenty of snow (we visited in June 2014), where we could do... More

The views, the snow, the ride - all in all an excellent trip with the family. We used the zell am see Kaprun card which gives free access to the cable cars. This was good value or it can be a bit pricey.

Worth a visit on the rainy days which you may get in the mountains and lakes. Excellent walk through the mountain to an exposed vantage over the glacier with great views. Glacier 'sledging'
