Booked a day tour to Mt Kitzsteinhorn from Salzburg and was lucky enough to get Bryan as a guide to ourselves for the day. Incredibly helpful, nothing was too much trouble. From providing umbrellas when it rained unexpectedly, to stopping to ensure we could taste the elder flowers, and organising for us to get a lakeside view of Zell Am... More

Plenty of parking is available and is free of charge. Using three different lift systems you can reach the top (ca. 3000m). It cost around 30 Euros/Adult, 25 Euros/ bigger kids and the smaller ones didn't pay anything. At the top the views were amazing. Absolutely worth goign up there! With the shuttle you could get a hundrer meters down... More

Kitzsteinhorn base point is about 15 minutes by car from Kaprun. Plenty of parking is available and is free of charge. Using three different lift systems you can reach the top. At first station you can have a really nice walk around. At second station there was still plenty of snow (we visited in June 2014), where we could do... More

The views, the snow, the ride - all in all an excellent trip with the family. We used the zell am see Kaprun card which gives free access to the cable cars. This was good value or it can be a bit pricey.

Worth a visit on the rainy days which you may get in the mountains and lakes. Excellent walk through the mountain to an exposed vantage over the glacier with great views. Glacier 'sledging'

There are three cable cars which take you to the Glacier, all included with the Kaprun Summer Card (free from many hotels). Try to go on a clear day to have the best views from the platform. We had a guided tour (in German) from a park ranger which was very informative, and later went sledging on the snow.

Free with Zell-Kaprun summer card. 3 nerve tanlging cable car rides to the summit but well worth it. Great viewing platforms and nice cafe-restaurant on the top where you can sit with views of the glacier. Expensive at 34 euros without summer card.

We had to cue for the last lift to take us all the way to the top for over an hour. Once we got there it was a big dissapointment. Construction work going on everywhere and an extremely limited area for tourists to walk around. You could buy drinks and kids could ride a very small hill with sledges. If... More
