Between 12.00 and 14.00 hrs, the sun is shining just in between the rocks, you never forget... It is about a walk of 25 min but also includes a little reservoir where you can enjoy the impressive high mountains all around

A wonderful piece of nature that you don’t want to miss if you’re visiting Kaprun. It requires 1 hour exploring. Instruction for returning back to the entrance was not clear.

Really lovely walk that can be done in all weather. We went on a slightly rainy day, we would have got wet anyway. It's a very pleasant walk through Kaprun but you can get the bus if you wish. Doesn't take long to walk through the gorge but it is worth going to.

The gorge is slightly outside Kaprun, near the Maiskogel gondola station. It's well worth a visit. The walk an climb through the gorge is very pleasant and there is a lovely lake at the top with beautiful blue water.

We walked to the gorge from our hotel in central Kaprun, which took about 15-20mins. You can get a bus there but there is really no need. There are toilets in the car park before you enter, so good to check with young children before you go in! The gorge was free to enter with the Kaprun card and we... More

Sigmund-Thun Gorge is accesible by a wooden walkway which winds up through the gorge and past many waterfalls. In some parts there are canopies over the walkway to protect you from the water that tumbles down into the river below. It is quite long and at the top there is a reservoir with mountain views and walks. It is a... More

It's a 2.5 Km flat walk from Kaprun to the entrance - which is free with Zell card. Then the wooden stairs follow the gorge up to the top. Worth going if you're in Kaprun.
