The two of us came here to see the Basilica, due to it being the church that Maria gets married in. The taxi driver who took us (Walter) was fantastic, parking right next to it. The inside of the Basilica was beautiful, probably some of the best interior in the world. There's also a great gift shop, and what we... More

Well, if you a sound of music fan, don't miss this. this is where Maria and Captain Von Trapp got married in the film. It's a very nice church. the town itself is so beautiful and nice as well. Definitely spend 1-2 hours in this lovely little town if you are there.

We stopped in Mondsee with the Sound of Music Tour, this little village is beautiful, The Church is amazing with beautiful decorated architectural features, it is open to the public, they also do accept donations for the up keeping of the church. This is the church the Von Trapp wedding took place in the film. There is a souvenir shop right... More

The size of this church is staggering and the interiors were ostentatious and big, but it is worth a visit.

The church was a location in 'The Sound of Music', which means it gets tour groups. Don't let them put you off, though. They don't swamp it, and it's still lovely, particularly inside.

After a pleasant walk we arrived at the Basilica which is in an elevated position on the south side of the former monastery building facing a large square. The beautifully painted yellow walls with white detailing of the twin tower entrance facade of Baroque style is very impressive. On entering the church one encounters a light late Gothic interior with... More

We were fortunate to visit St. Michael as part of The Sound of Music tour (it looked larger in the movie). This lovely Basilica is in picturesque Mondsee, about 30 minutes drive from Salzburg. Entry is free and they allowed picture taking so to contribute to the church upkeep, we bought souvenirs at their gift shop. There are free public... More

We took the Sound of Music tour from Salzburg and found ourselves in some of the most beautiful country ending at this place. As stated it is the church inthe wedding scene of the Sound of Music and we were not disappointed. Though it is not as ornate as some of the big cathedrals, it is beautiful and has a... More

We went there as a part of our personal Sound of Music tour. When we entered (for no fee at all !!!!) we were awestruck and stunned by the beauty and arrangement of everything in the church. It is very well kept and when we visited barely anyone was visiting so we had the church all for ourselves. All the... More
