How can anyone not resist going into a candy store? Especially one that offers homemade candy and hand dipped truffles. There is coffee and lattes to mix with your sweet tooth....AND hand dipped ice cream! Also featuring the "old time candy" from the past, brings back the memories. The service was exceptional, not over bearing just friendly service offering a... More

We were impressed with the selection and excited to try some local treats. We ate them shortly after leaving the store and they were rock hard. I know some chocolates are supposed to be harder, but one of us got a truffle and the other got some coconut thing so it seems unlikely that both of these were supposed to... More

In my opinion, vacations are for sweets! A number of candy shops I've visited in the past tend to have items made elsewhere and shipped in but not Custer County Candy Company. Of course, some items were made elsewhere but they have a huge selection of delicious chocolates and candies that were made right in the store. Everything is fresh... More

This store has the best homemade toffee and chocolate-covered caramels. It could seem a bit expensive to some, but when you consider the chocolates are made locally at the store and not halfway across the country, it's definitely worth the price! There's a good deal going on: buy a pound, get a half pound free. It's great for fudge lovers.

If you are a chocolate lover this will fit the bill. Totally unexpected to find a store like this in the middle of this wonderful wilderness area. A must stop to treat oneself to one of the finer creature comforts in life. You won't be disappointed.

My husband absolutely loves fudge so we could not pass the Custer County Candy Company without stopping. However, I must advise that the prices are higher than expected. With that said, my family tends to splurge a bit while on vacation. However, they were running a special (buy 1lb get a 1lb free or something on those lines) so everyone... More

We walked in, and everything, for the most part, looked absolutely delicious. When we saw the prices, on the other hand, not so much. The prices were higher than the quality, and the quality was high. The grab bags, which cost $3.00 plus tax, which was high, were full of cheap Halloween candy that was worth $1.00 in itself. When... In search of Chocolate Perfection, we visited Custer County Candy Company in Custer, SD. The location is good, and the confectionary worth the visit. Most chocolates are hand-made on the premises by very a experienced chocolatier, Lee Lampert, dedicated to visitors enjoying delicious treats. We had friends over for supper and served a variety of Custer County Candy Co. chocolates.... More
