Legion Lake is full of moss but from afar is a good vista. Stopped in the general store/restaurant to have a bison burger and I can say I have had much better.

This lake and lodge are worth a stop if you are touring Custer State Park. The little store and the restaurant are very nice. You can get ice cream here too. The lake is beautiful. It is usually quiet here- at least it was when we were there (July 2015). It is just a few minutes east of the town... More

Great boating/canoeing or just to have lunch and a beautiful view. Better pictures in the afternoon.

A great place to relax and swim. Not so crowded as Sylvan Lake. Facilities for eating & drinking, nice little beach.

I took my grandson to Legion Lake Instead of one of the bigger lakes. The water was pretty clear, small beach area, lots of kids for him to play with and as an added bonus they have a cafe on site!

Not as spectacular as Sylvan Lake but a very close second. Nice lodge and cafe too with a great deck overlooking the lake. Catch the swifts nesting in the roof...

This is a good, clean place fairly well located for seeing the entire park. We stayed there for three days and each day drove to see a different section of the park each of which was entirely different.

Swimming here is a bit warmer than Sylvan Lake but the water is murkier and the swimming area is smaller. There is a playground just near the beach so little ones can take a break from swimming.

We stopped here after doing some hiking, and were on the way to the Wildlife Loop. The sandwiches were good, but the ordering process was horrible. They were having some computer issues, but all the prices were posted on the menu board on the wall. Somehow, the numbers just couldn't get keyed into the cash register by the staff. New... More
