Its always nice to be able to pull over and throw your pole in and within 10 minutes catch a fish in a lake you have never been too. Gorgeous lake - great picnic areas above the lake - gotta hike in, but its not too far. And if you don't hike, the drive around the lake is pretty. More

This relatively small lake just off U.S. highway 16A inside the Custer State Park is a very pleasant place to visit. Take an hour here. Half an hour to enjoy the beauty and walk around. (if you brought a bike you can bike to nearby Custer and back) Then a half hour to ingest the history of the place.
