Yet another must-see for us is Sylvan Lake. The hike around the lake is legendary; truly one of the most scenic lakes in the country. There are a couple of trails on the far end of the lake that you can add to your list, and of course, the world famous Harney Peak hike starts from the parking lot here,... More

We stayed in a cabin above Sylvan Lake and loved the scenery. Sylvan Lake is a great clean lake and has amazing hiking. Well worth the swim, hike and 3 to 4 day stay.

My niece and I walked around the entire lake. The hike isn't too strenuous, but not recommended for the elderly or not so agile. Phenomenal views--stopped and had coffee and ice cream at the gift shop (some of the best ice cream I've ever tried!)

We stayed at Sylvan Lake campground for 8 nights and got quite familiar with Sylvan Lake. We loved swimming in it. It felt very cold but clean. The beach is tiny and lots of people come there. There is a really nice walk around the lake, flat and easy and they are some pretty and more intense hikes really close... More

My favorite part of our trip was walking the trails around the lake. Our whole family had fun and our kids are only 4 and 2. The views are breathtaking and well worth the park entrance fee plus the drive up to it is gorgeous

Beautiful lake surrounded by rocks and trees. Also, some very high rocks in the lake which give it a very majestic appearance. The surrounding rocks and trees block the wind, so the lake was very calm and serene. Great spot for a picnic lunch, an afternoon swim, or a leisurely stroll.

One of the most beautiful lakes I have ever been to. Also nice that they have a little facility near the lake to get snacks and use the restroom. Don't bother going to the bridge on the other side; it is just a gross man-made dam.

Set aside 30 minutes in your trip for a stop and stroll around this lake. This is such a pretty little lake with the surrounding rocks so perfectly placed, it feels as though it must have been designed specifically for our viewing pleasure. There is a lovely path for you to stroll around, best with runners or hiker sandals, as... More

Beautiful little lake with an easy trail and a swimming area. The gift shop had a grill in the back where you could order pizza, chicken strips and burgers. We ate lunch on the picnic tables on the deck. Perfect place to stop on your way down Needles Highway, or to rest before hitting the trails.
