Sylvan Lake is a very beautiful, picturesque and peaceful location. It is well worth allowing time for a visit here. It is a reasonably short drive from Custer, SD. I would really recommend a visit here, if you like beautiful scenery , a peaceful location and somewhere where you are away from the crowds.

We stopped here because the Needles Highway was closed for season. We're glad we did! We opted for a short hike around the lake. Beautiful! The rock formations were a stunning backdrop for the lake. This is part of Custer State Park. State parks are treasures for us all!

We enjoyed visiting the lake. We only stayed a few hours, but it was worth the stop. We hiked the trail around, it was unexpected to got threw several passages in the rock. Then we climbed the large bolder in the lake. Awesome visit!

This place is amazing. The views are great. It is nice for taking a walk with family or with friends. I have gone there several times over the years and it has been a great experience every time. All ages can enjoy, from young children to adults. There are places to hike, walk, take pictures and more.

The lake is picturesque and just gorgeous. The rock formations with the clean, fresh scenery is wonderful. We rented paddle boats and kayaks and enjoyed the view

The resort, restaurant, and activities are all pretty good. You can fish, hike, canoe, eat, and relax all in one day.
