This visit was during Southern Decadence and it was great. Everywhere is busy but this place was really packed. Everyone was having fun but it could be a bit full on for some. Odd mix of Daddies, Bears and black guys, but it worked and everyone was having fun. It really was a 24/7 bar over the weekend so don't... More

Daddy/ Leather Bar. It's a small space with a sexual feel. Come here to be friendly and social, but like any place you go to in NOLA stick to your buddy system.

Ok, I went back to NOLA and rushed back to this bar. This time I went both during day light hours and during the night shift. Hey, this is a great bar. Popped in there at 4pm to find it busy and interesting. Everyone was chilled and just drinking and hanging out. A loud mouth queen was soon ejected from... More

I was here during Southern Decadence. This bar is small. Staff is friendly. The drinks are strong and cheap. You wont find the bead wearing twinks here. This bar attacks bears, daddies, cowboys and leather wearing men. The theme party nights are fun.

Full Disclosure: I can't tell you what Rawhide 2010 is like during any other time but Southern Decadence on Labor Day weekend, so I'm not sure how helpful this review will be if you're going to N'awlins any other time. I -can- tell you that this place absolutely rocks during during Decadence. And by "rocks" I mean it is a... More

Friendly and not too big bear/leather/cowboy bar. Very few people wearing beads or in the mardi gras spirit, this is a drinking and hanging out place. OK, first things first, this isn't a drag bar nor is it somewhere you can take you mother or girlfriends, this is an mens bar! This place is a mix of bears, daddies and... More

Three words DARK AND CREEPY. Unless you want to be gang banged in the "bathroom" I would hold it in. I have nothing against bears and leather. It can be fun but leave before the "cheap" liquor makes this place become a nasty sex fest on the $.75 pool table and a free for all in the bathroom. I had... More

Very laid back place. Pool is only 75 cents. Drinks are strong and a good value. Only a block off bourbon. It a nice diversion to the insanity that is Boyrbon.

Don't get me wrong....if you are looking for an unreal leather experience...this is NOT for you. LA and PS dress up dolls stay away! Rawhide continues to be one of the best leathe bars in the USA. Great service..cheap drinks....and the backroom.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
