This was a great venue. The sound, the atmosphere, the workers... All above expected. I'd love to attend another event or show here.

I've been to my share of stadiums after years of being a sports reporter in the Midwest and the Smoothie King Center compares favorably to many of the venues in which I've worked. The New Orleans Pelicans aren't having the best season so attendance was pretty light for a regular season game against the Detroit Pistons. However, there's a dedicated... More

I had never been to an NBA Stadium and this being my first it was great. I would recommend seeing a game here when you are in town.

We went there for the trans Siberian orchestra. Place was very clean not a bad seat in the house and the concert was awesome. Close parking and convenient restrooms and clean restrooms. Drinks were a little expensive but not too bad and expected. Going back in March for another concert and would love to see a basketball game in there.

Attended WWE Monday Night RAW here. Have to say this is one of the better arenas I have visited. Was a decent size, not too big nor small. The seats were very comfortable. Seems like a great place. Was a bit confusing to find, even with my GPS. Ended up just parking at a hotel garage nearby and walking about... More

We've been here several times for concerts & sporting events. Concession prices are what you'd expect from an arena. $8-$10 for beers. They have an alligator poboy that is an absolute must when we visit! Staff has always been helpful & friendly. And to the people complaining that the place is to cold.......REALLY? In the Louisiana summertime heat I welcome... More

I attended a concert here with friends. It was a nice big facility. I would definitely return for another event here at this location.

...and it was awesome! I was in the lower ring, so I can't vouch for upper ring seats, but I was close to being as far as you can get from the stage and the view was still great. The huge video projections didn't hurt, either, but I've been to a stadium show where I was so far from the... More

Overall great sized venue for events. Not to big, not to small. Concessions are pricey but that's to be expected. Only complaint is the clear plexy glass on the first row of the upper section. Very scary when walking by to get to your seat. One wrong move and you could easily fall over.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
