Fun ... Good music ..."wave off" the Fat Girl with the shooters!

The band we saw on two consecutive nights (Tues and Wed) was terrific. A fun place with little extras. It's right across the street from the Royal Sonesta (where we are staying).

This was a great little spot on bourbon street. Friendly staff, great prices, and superb music! It was value priced and a great place to have drinks and enjoy live entertainment. We spent 3 nights here and we're very pleased.

We had a fun time dancing at the Famous Door. They had a great band and DJ with mostly 80s music. The dance floor isn't huge, but that's what made the place fun. It wasn't too overwhelming. Great party atmosphere that wasn't too fancy. And it didn't having annoying girls walking around trying to shove shots down your throat. That... More

What a fun place with great bands. Small but just large enough to rock the dance floor. Two bars with fast service and great drinks. This is must if your on Bourbon Street. I would go back in a heartbeat.

The Famous Door was one of our mainstays while in the French Quarter. The staff was very friendly, the drink prices were reasonable and the music was great. They had several different bands over the 4 days we visited. The bands were very good and the house band was excellent. I'll definitely return the next time I'm in New Orleans.

I am in NOLA for work at least once a month and never miss an opportunity to see the house band The Junction. They are the most fun cover band you will find on Bourbon and will have you dancing, singing, and drinking the night away. Be careful not to loose track of time with the great time you are... More

This was the highlight of my visit to Bourbon Street. See my review on Bourbon Street. I was about to leave but heard music from The Famous Door and decided to venture in. What a great band! The female singer was rocking! She sang Janis Joplin's "Piece of my Heart" like I have never heard it sung live. I had... More

Barker on the street has sign around his neck that says, 2 for 1. I ask barker about the special and he informs me "2 beers for 1". Order a "2 for 1" from bartender, and she gives us tiny 8oz Miller Highlifes for $17. Such a rip off.

Awesome band! 80s music - love it! Watch out for the shot girls - they are touchy feely which is not my style. Drinks are not good - stick with bottled beer or buy elsewhere.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
